Any tricks on replacing throttle cable on a MCI 9

Hi Buspit,

If it's not broke, try and lube it first. That usually works.

Replacing the cable can be tricky. If you are lucky, it will slide through the tunnel with alot of pulling.

Remember to hook the new cable to the old one...Lol..

When you get tired of the cable, I have an air throttle on mine I simply love, mainly because of the light foot pressure required.  True it has some delay in it, but that can be anticipated too.  Good Luck, TomC

I secure the 2 threaded cable ends together with a nut from a front brake chamber clamp. Install a jam nut on each cable end first, thread one end from the old cable into the nut, thread one end from new cable into nut, tighten jam nuts.
Make sure you have the correct configuration of the cable ends - if there is a difference, disconnect any clamps by governor cover too.Then just pull carefully on the old cable, old cable acts as a "snake", to install new one. Works great.

When I started looking I found that there was a plasic tube from front to back, pulled old one out pushed new one in 5 min. :)
