Title: Genset wiring
Post by: grantgoold on March 25, 2007, 08:38:40 PM
I am ready to wire up the genset. I have a remote start, hour meter and even a multi receptacle at the genset. I want to bring two 120 volt legs from the genset to the auto switch. What have you folks used for wiring from the genset forward?

Thanks

Grant

Grant,
What is the maximum output of the generator? This will determine proper wire size. I used flexible conduit with individual stranded wires inside the conduit. Our generator has circuit breaker already installed in it. I recently installed a generator that did not have circuit breakers in it. We added a breaker box near the generator to provide adequate protection to the wiring (maximum generator output will determine proper circuit breaker size).   Jack
