About $4000.00 for a clutch replacement and around 10k for the 600 series Allison if you could find the parts, cheap way out now is buy a takeout 6v92TA with a 740 with the cradle and shift tower from a MCI 9 and sell your 8v71 and transmission, those can be found for $3500 to $5000.00,

I think my problem is in the clutch adjustment shaft. Someone over the years cross threaded a jamb nut on the bottom side of the shaft, could not get it loose with a 30-inch breaker bar, thinking about splitting the nut with a Dremel and then cleaning the threads back up. I even heated the nut up, and it still will not come loose. If anyone knows of an easier way, please let me know.
Thanks in advance.
