But that is exactly why I don't see more folks forming their own bus maintenance pool and stock up on some big cost items. We know you can get a decent running gear out of a bus for a few thousand. A whole set of windows, panels, brakes, dash, etc. A few with similar buses just need to agree to fund a private stash and figure out a financial model to use parts from the pool and pay into it to maintain or build inventory. It's odd there has never been any mention on the boards I follow.

Even if the engine parts are wore out some of the parts have a hefty core price, because they are not made anylonger,The re-con rods for LVMIC 8V92 were over $300.00 ea with $100.00 ea core charge,$2400.00 for rods unbelievable, I remember a $1000.00 for a inframe job at Detroit

We know a bus nut in Live Oak Florida that doesn't do any forums nor social media that has 3 complete 4104s. One is his primary traveler and the other two are spare parts

2 spare parts buses to keep one on the road sounds about right to me  :D sorta sad to see 2- 4104 parted out
