Title: SUPERBOWL!
Post by: lvmci on March 10, 2023, 07:44:43 AM
Next year the Superbowl will be in the new stadium here in Las Vegas. There is a video commercial playing during all news casts, of a bus decorated with large graphics of the Superbowl LVIII logo on every side, driving thru the Mojave desert towards Las Vegas on the horizon.  The entire commercial are shots of the bus...

It is sure strange building a solid black stadium in the Vegas desert. You won't be able to touch the outside of the stadium in July and Aug.

we need to figure out how to rent some spaces to park our buses and AirBnB them for that week. Surely, it'll pay some needed repairs and maintenance. ha

There won't be shortage of places to stay in Vegas and they will be making deals to try and get your dollars for that week,If they don't black it out people will flood Freemont St to watch the game on that 135,000 sf screen, the screen on the stadium is 27,000 ft that is over a 1/2 of acre tv screen outside the stadium.

Clifford pointed out how many rooms are in LV so probably not the typical crush of visitors needing rooms.

Gee Dave, Just thought it was an interesting idea. Maybe the Superbowl might not be the preferred venue to AirBnB your bus but some folks make money jumping on the glamping bandwagon. Win or lose - your rig will get worked over. I'd certainly not want any stranger in my bus, even if it's setup and parked. There are companies that do RV trailer setups in campgrounds, rent them out and assume they put some cash in their pockets to make it worthwhile.

Rentals in campgrounds seem to work good for some, families drive to the campground in mini vans unpack the kids and kick back,The deal is real popular in AZ, the cost is not bad if you take everything into consideration, no big fuel bill, already setup,no rv payments and the BS of owning a RV .Some I seen are new trailers and run around $150.00 a day or $700.00 a week all the guests bring is food, kids, pets and linens. One family told me they do it for safety because they feel the kids are safter in a campground than at a motel

Agree. Without a doubt, renting a nice travel/park trailer all set up in a nice campground and no hassle is easily worth the cost if renting for a few weeks or less. Cost of a bus is a lot more than a trailer too. If you really need the bus than so be it. If you total the annual overhead plus usage costs over the number of actual occupied nights, you really must love the bus or don't care so much about the $$.  I avoid looking at the stack of bills and adding them up, makes no $ sense to me but is give me joy.
