Came back from 3 month vacation and bus just cranks. Lost prime doing a filter change ( just to complicate things)not sure this series 60 has a primer pump.. prior to vacation, bus started with no issues.. I can't find anything on the internet regarding the prime procedure
There should be priming pump at the fuel tank with a switch, on the D4500
I have a switch at the rear of the bus on the right side inside the door that covers the 2 big fans on my D4500. I haven't been able to determine what it's for. It's one of those small chrome 2 position switches. Is that possibly the primer pump switch?
For the benefit of the original poster and for my own, does anyone know where that switch is located that operates the fuel primer pump on the D4500? And, is the primer pump located near the tank, or somewhere in the engine compartment? Thanks all.
On my DL3 the pump was at the tank and the switch was in the engine compartment ,on the few D4500 I worked on you turn the key switch off and on twice and leave it on for a few minutes to prime one with a Cummins engine, the priming pump could have been a option on the D's I don't know, but the C's came with a priming pump at the tank
