Hello,
I have a 20 gallon marine hot water heater in my MCI.
Every two to three weeks I must clean the aerators out with trash.
I have two water filters and a softener.
PH is neurtal.
This has been going on for over a year.
I just came back from a 9 month trip with moving every week.
Only on the hot water side.
My hot water is very hot.
Any ideas what is causing this?
Thanks
Rick
Flush the tanks and check the anode in the hot water tank it may be deteriorating they do over time, they sell a pricey electric anode for those that will stop the lime build up Van has one on his water heater.
thanks
I will
Find one that fits your unit here.
The standard anodes don't last long, took 3 months to Disintegrate in my 20 gal Rheem. I am using a 3 stage ClearSource filtration system w/UV and a OnTheGo double standard water softener FWIW.

Well, just got out the owners' manual and guess what?
The Whale water heater does not come with one.
You can order the part and install.
Thanks for all your help

LOL like buying battery powered tools now you pay extra for a battery and a charger
A friend of mine had a similar problem. He had been where there was lots of calcium and /or lime in the water. Guy at a campground told him drain most of the tank, fill it with abut 15 gallons of white vinegar. Let it cycle through all of the lines. Then drain hot water heater and turn the pump back on so most of the vinegar in the tank gets pumped into the hot water heater. Let it sit over night. Then fill and drain with clean water by running the pump, the whole thing 2 times. Cured his build up problem. If you can't bypass your in line water filters they will need replaced after the above.
Hope you get it figured out.
A lot of water out west sucks. Went through a car wash out in AZ? and was pretty windy. Truck partially air dried bf I could rinse it off. Left a lime film on part of it. Disappeared after a couple of rain events thankfully.
Quite simply-turn down your water temperature on the water heater. I bet all problems go away. I had 2-10gal electric water heaters (one feeding the next with the final one wired through the inverter for hot water while driving) for 26 years with hardly any maintenance. Good Luck, TomC
