I use Kimball/Midwest the code is 80-654 it is not a cheap paint @ 20 bucks and 1 can will cover more than 3 of the other brands fwiw
1 can will cover a prepped and cleaned engine

Power wash good to remove most of the grease, spray paint thinner on the engine let set overnight power wash again let dry and a little hand touch up and you are good to go,the Kimball/Midwest is a heavy bodied paint it sticks Van got me hooked on the Kimball paint you can order in any engine color even the ugly Alpine green for the 71 series,I like the red DD used on the 92 series
I hope we can paint mine before we put it in...

The engine is going to easy painting since it was hot tanked, your engine compartment needs a little painting,Van(Rembrant) has a paint can in both hands ready for the engine :^

It's the details that make the paint work Spectacular ;)
for certain the best time to paint super good is when it is out. My engine runs 100% but the paint job could have been better. I guess I understand how much time detailing can take so probably just the question of how many hours you want to pay for nice paint. Makes it easy to understand why not much gets masked or extra prep before painting, etc.
Hey we know that girl, LOL :^
Found an eBay seller that has the DD silver paint. It's not cheap. Just started cleaning my bus the other day. Next up is oven cleaner for the Final Cut and then paint.
Don't waste your money buying the Dupli Color engine paint it won't last ,some oven cleaners are caustic it takes a lot of rinsing to get the stuff off an engine before painting

I do not believe it is a duplicolor paint. The oven cleaner is for the chassis under the bus not the engine itself. I agree, it's difficult to remove otherwise. I do have a pressure washer under there with me. Not a fun job.
