Title: Any "O" scale train guys out there
Post by: Tedsoldbus on December 26, 2022, 12:27:32 PM
Maybe not the place for this but my father in law (FMCA 4125) and mom just went into assisted living. His whole basement is O scale trains. Rita and I get the joy of emptying the house for sale. Some of his engines are $12000 dollars! Who knew? Rita has cataloged most of it and about to put it on the web. Here are a few pictures if any bus nut is also a train nut. (Robert Glines)
You get first dibs! If interested PM me and I'll put you with the Rita.

Rita says the Scenic Cruisers sell for 55 on Ebay. I'd rather hand it to a kid at Nappanee....
There is also a Flxible and some metro buses.
See? I made this about buses!
Thanks Van. I'll send you a caboose!

Awesome collection! My uncle had a set up similar in a NJ (Little Silver) basement. It didn't go through walls which is so cool instead he had multiple layers of 4×8 platforms that represented different countries. So sorry to see such a dedicated author of such a detailed setup retiring the hobby. We have multiple sets of HO cars and trains mixed and O guage trains that wouldn't scratch the surface of your FIL's setup. They've been stored forever. My compliments to "Dad" & such a fine hobby.

Rita is smart and finding the websites you talked about. May not do Ebay. Sad though. We told him they are starting to sell. HEW said to me "The 4106 is gone, now my trains...I have lived too long.". Tough stuff.
There are few local clubs we can give track and cheap freight cars to that they give to young guys with not much money. Some of those little buildings sell for $50 dollars. Who knew ? He built many of the bigger ones. Not my thing but you have to admire the hours he has into it and the detail.
Even has a bus depot!

My friend has spent years on his and bought popsicle sticks by the 1000's to build with, not my cup of tea either but I do admire those guys

Wish I could help but I'm sure that there would be lining up to take a crack at that collection. I have several of those CORGI buses including that SCENICRUISER. Those along should sell to the right people.
