Had the front right wheel bearing go out, lots of heat and smoke, cannot get the bearing loose from the spindle, tried hammering, angle grinder, chisel, any suggestions to get it loose? 1989 MCI 96a3
You are not going to be able to salvage the spindle anyways cut the knuckle off behind the brake shoe backing plate and drive the king pins from the axle and find you a used knuckle and hub, man that one got hot for sure
yep, used spindle. Try Luke at US Coach.

I wouldn't even try to save that spindle and hub, the easiest place to cut one off is where the pin comes through the axle

Ouch not what I wanted to hear Bus is in a parking lot off the side of the road in Old Town Florida, Coachnet provided a mobile mechanic who is trying to fix it, that stopped him.
Have toad, so not stuck, about 200 miles from home, probably need to find a place to tow it to.

Was that a oil type or grease type bearing ?

That was a grease bearing.

A few years ago when I discovered bad damage to rear Drive tire spindle from the previous owner, I had an Axle Doctor come out who chopped it off and welded another on, Do you think an Axle Doctor would be worth a call?

Axle doctor replaces tube type spindles I don't know of one that replaces a cast spindle on the steering knuckle that is all a 1 piece cast, labor expense is going to be your biggest cost then you will need a alignment
Got the hub and bearings off took angle grinder and air chisel, spindle is in decent shape waiting on parts.

Due to lack of tools with me I was not making much progress earlier, I tried calling around for a mechanic, no luck, I sat out working on it and I had 4 different mobile mechanics stop in 10 minutes, they all knew each other and decided which one would help me.

When using greased bearings all my manuals tell you after you pack the bearing pack the hub,it keeps the water out and melts when the hub gets hots and will have noticeable leaks
