But it's real. Called the real phone number and it turns out TCS is NOT going out of business but they are terminating their contract w/ FMCA. Anyone have more details?
It's confusing because the email had incorrect address and $$ balance amounts. Tech support agreed the message doesn't look exactly realistic - her term - sketchy.
In case others are receiving the notice. TCS will be sending out checks for your outstanding balance.

So as not to be confused,
TCS is the FMCA related one
TSD/open roads is a different one.
What is important is that you get something, anything, back or discounted on your diesel purchase.
Please do not pay full retail price, and shop around, the pricing of diesel across the continent is absolutely wild, with huge mark ups and variations that we are not used to seeing, historically speaking.
None of those big trucks are paying the price on the pump, neither should we!

FMCA has had several fuel programs over the years none seem to hang around long

My guess, they take too big a cut, their volume is too small, and they flip again, trying to increase the income to FMCA.
It ain't about serving the members...

Loves close to me diesel is $5.55 a gal even with discount cards it is not even close to the $4.30 a gal I can buy it from Sam's or Fastrip ,marketing is a strange duck @ Loves you can buy fuel at the non-truck pumps .50 cents a gal less and no charge for a credit card.could be Tom Love feels bad for the RV crowd, but I doubt it
diesel is $ 3.95 a gallon in Kansas Wamego and St Marys. Manhattan Kansas is $3.98
Gas is $3.04 everywhere here.
Kansas is big on the bio gasoline and diesel the corn and soy bean growers keep some grades low with rebates, their fuel tax is about $.25 a gal now ours in AZ is $.18 and going up according to our new governor elect
The TCS card issued for FMCA was never really useful in my opinion, and the discounts nowhere near as good as those with TSD. I tried it when it was first available, and within a few months closed the account and got my money pulled out. TSD served us much better over the years.

Haven't seen any here or in Kansas as a whole. It would be tagged on the pumps and is not. we saw more in California and Texas as we came through those states. Haven't even seen any ethanol here in the year and a half we have been here and Missouri.
Hey maybe you will luck out and save some doe then soon. Our Female Governor who got voted in again for a second term just dropped the taxes on food for the first time and is getting fuel lowered as far as taxes too. :^
If you use GasBuddy, there is almost always cheaper diesel at the non-truck stop places. For me the tradeoff is heading onto surface streets not been on before, taking a gamble on the actual layout of the station how tight it might, etc.
The convenience of a truck stop is ease of access off the highway and station , speed of fueling up, nice long windshield brushes, etc.
FMCA had the Flying J for a long time then Pilot for years,in AZ the have RV islands at most truck stops,I gave up on the so called discount cards,I do better with my rebate and major oil credit cards by far so I don't do truck stops anymore except a QuickTrip sometimes

They don't have to tag the fuels any longer some states still do it,getting where you don't see any here in AZ all they tell you is what year models it works in.AZ new governor wants more taxes on everything. The Feds will be raising your fuel tax very soon watch for it at a local theater and not to far off you will see fuel permits for diesel RV's where you pay each state for use of their highways with a tax just like the truckers do now.LOL your governor needs to do away with all the toll roads in Kansas since it is worse than Okla for toll roads even I 35 is a toll road in places. There is no free lunch when a government agency gives some revenue in 1 place they make it up other places
We like the TSD card. Alway an easy in and out at a truck plaza. You typically do not need to go inside to pay so the stop is quicker. Right now in Albuquerque Gas Buddy best price on diesel is 4.25 and TSD is 4.15 at TA truck plaza.
That is pretty much what we find as we are traveling. Once in a while we do find cheaper fuel on gas buddy but not usually. Everyone has their own preference.

TA in Kingman was posted $5.61 a gal for diesel it was still over 5 bucks with discounts but was better than Loves, Crazy Freds had the best prices in Kingman with the card
Yep!
We have a tex tag for travel through the Kansas, Texas and Oklahoma tolls. We don't move much now here and don't have any tolls around us on 24 or 70 but had a few in Texas and Oklahoma. We put in 10.00 two years a go and still haven't used it all up, LOL
We drove through 3 of them because there was no way to put the money in or use the window tag cameras and never got anything in the mail. We called when we got here and they said we were good and paid up. :^
Casey's here has regular car gas pumps in front of the store and next to the store has truck pumps you just pull in and fill up no waiting. These are because of all the grain trucks here and are mostly used at night when they fill up.
High fuel prices are going to be around for a while, they are going to keep oil prices around $80.00 a barrel ,they are forecasting $110.00 a barrel soon but I think $80.00 is going to be norm we have a surplus and prices are getting higher makes no sense, lot people are going to stay in one place Dave or make real short trips
