Anyone else?
Just got ours (RV account) stupid fast speeds thus far. That makes two additional things this year to give thanks for, so when I kick Dish to the curb before the end of the year make it 3. Besides not slamming my fingers in a bay door, sorry Ted lol!
Gobble gobble
Everyone! :D
Got one in summer. super speed. I did have trouble with the first one. The connectors are not designed for outdoor use so you really need to watch the connectors do not get anywhere near the ground. I got some small debris in the end of the connector then it jammed the other side and quit working. They replaced in days, amazing service.
Yup! I got a couple of rubber caps tha fit snuggly on the ends. Amazon is marketing "Specialized end caps" ::) now of all things ???

I ordered one for the place in Rimrock .Hughes Net has to go it has to be the worst system ever made
Hughes net is awful, very frustrating, got rid of it at Nicky's, took a long time to get Starlink, but worth it...

Startlink test show we will lose service for 2 minutes at 10.05 am,myself I would prefer fiber optics for home use
we just got ours haven't hooked it up yet.
Yup, Best Effort residential arrived a couple weeks ago, after 18 months on the wait list.
VERY VERY HAPPY.
On the fringe of cell coverage, weekends were a disaster, too many devices arrive into the hinterland from the big city... anything with data was slow and unreliable.
It will be a joy to get a proper workstation set up, bus reference materials on the shelf, old hard drives accessed, all those old pics, documents and bulletins...

No I was going for the home version Bob, I don't need the RV version since our traveling is getting less and less frequent, I may have to go that route thanks for the tip

You'll need to do the Rv Starlink route then, you'll recieve the equipt with in 10 days and be able to take/set up any where you want.. throw it on the ground plug in, turn on. ;)
Who repairs the Starlink equipment when you own it ? will Starlink repair the components or do you buy again
So far, the reports are that Starlink sends out new units, if there's a failure.
They have some remote diagnostic capability and i haven't seen any reports of trouble. Broken? New one being shipped.
Whether that continues into the far beyond, nobody will be able to answer. There are no humans to contact using traditional means.

May be like Dish network. They own the equipment.
I am trying to find out how long Starlink will honor the startup pricing, best I can find is Starlink may get lower in price or double in price :-X,I remember what Cell carriers, Direct,Dish and cables providers did to me
PC guy ran his on trip from leesburg florida to maine. Not approved for in motion yet FCC--but. We have rv version at home. extra outside antenna to take with us. Inside unit is very small. 135$ a month .
$135.00 a month that is $1620.00 year Bob I don't need that since we don't stream movies, when we do watch movies, I stop at Red Box buy one and drop it off down the road.Sonja does like U tube and I don't watch U tube myself .and our cell service is paid by the restaurants with hot spots (when they work)but I do get frustrated with the internet when you are trying to pay bills and it is off for 2 or 3 hours a day
just ordered the rv set up
but in Canada the monthly price is $170 + $22 extra service bull crap = $192 per month !
all this just for internet but we will drop the land line and the tv dish and the phone line internet we have now at $ 220 a month
so with all the $$ we are saving I can put $28 a month in the rv tank in fuel
I think it is a good service Van's is super fast here,he does a lot of streaming with his and works for him ,for me I don't see where I could benefit from it with the cost, Hughe net does suck though but 1/2 the price,You can speak with a real person with Hughe Net I like that
Cliff there is the 30 day option to return the equipment for a full refund if not satisfied. Here is a cool video for those that are curious how this starlink functions

You know I don't watch U tube lol ,and I am not going to pay almost 2000 a year for internet service,my phone and internet here in Mohave only cost me less than $400.00 a year
I have a Roku tv. I pay for Disney plus, Hallmark, and Amazon prime, daughter pays for Netflix, other daughter pays for Hulu and Hbo max. We all share the services, including our sil. Netflix is talking about curtailing some sharing not in same household. Won't be a loss for me if it happens though as Netflix constantly slips in objectionable content in their movies, so I have to select carefully. I stopped several shortly after started watching due to this. Hallmark starting some of this too. Head of Hallmark resigned recently over controversal subject matter and started new channel, Gac, I believe. Plus I have several free channels with ads. Roku offers hundreds of free content channels on just about every catagory. Cliff, I'm waiting on a Harbor Freight channel.lol

Actually in the last week or so they announced service for anywhere in Canada or Alaska.
The new satellites that use lasers to relay between satellites to get back to a ground station make it possible.
Though in some places I think you need the more expensive larger dish...
I'm sure the introductory price will go up in future. Afterall it costs 10's of billions to put the satellites up for this. Sure beats all these stupid old tech towers everywhere. I wondered why they couldnt use satellites years ago. Dish and Direct tv, Hughes do it albeit far fewer satellites.
We get our internet from Xfinity while there is a Verizon tower 1/2 mile from the house. Can't get Verizon internet because Xfinity has the franchise to supply it which is total BS in this day and age. Meanwhile, Verizon has their fiber optic running on same poles in front of house going to Penn State University.

It is getting a little crowded above us too ,I have a app on my phone for satellite's tracking and it seems like a couple of new ones pop up every week. That is the way FCC works John they sell our air space (cells) to the highest bidder Don't you remember the roaming charges back in 80's and 90's back then, in Scottsdale I could walk across the street and my cell phone would go on roam amazing how precise the boundary on the cells were. The old dog won't hunt thinking the more subscriber's will bring the price down just look at cell service no more free phones either now they got us :^
Starlink, a system of satellites surrounding the earth. Starnet, a system of satellites surrounding the earth in the Terminator movies. And not to mention how far Artifical Intelligence has advanced since then.....or remote controlled weapons, ie, drones, etc. kinda makes me wonder where we are headed.

I hope it is not a dead-end road with no turn around
Its probably worst than that... :o
I did the dead end road with no turn around this summer with the bus and toad. ;D
We did that years ago by Cliffords down town at the train crossing to low, LOL had to unhook and turn the bus around. :)

sadly, it is. Technology always leads, needed rules and regulations, and understanding follow. The increasing pace means the gap between new tech and developing minimally adequate control is growing. We in our lifetime, even us old geezers, will get more than a flash to where this heads. AI has upped the game to a new level. Self learning and adapting systems and machine level speeds equals out of control
Hi Dave, same thing happened to me with my 5A...

I just don't know about you guys! 😅lol
This starlink is great, only took milliseconds to post this lol!
We had to turn around on a dead end this summer at two different occasions. I thought NO OUTLET sign meant no electricity ahead.
