I am still very new to the bus scene.
I am a mechanic.
I am looking for an interface for my windows pc to my bus
I have a Detroit Diesel 50 series and DDEC IV in a 1993 MCI-12 (repowered)
It sat for 9 years, I got it started and got it home.
I have driven the bus twice since then.
I tried to start it with low battery power, then I charged the batteries, got it started but it ran really rough with misfires.
Several days later fully charged batteries and no start!
I have changed filter and primed the fuel system
No CEL or SEL on master power up... in fact it never did since i bought it earlier this year.
Thanks for taking the time to help me. The learning curve is so sharp on bus stuff.
Check the fuses or circuit breakers for the DDEC computer. They will come directly off the batteries. You will need to turn power on and wait for the CEL & SEL lights to go out. That is the computer doing a self diagnosis.
Also check the grounds as well. They are the most likely culprit.
I know this is an old post.
But I solved it.
The lithium battery in the DDEC IV computer leaked all over the board an caused the no start. Need to replace ECM or have repaired any advice from you guys?
I use www.dieselcontrolservice.com
I have tried contacting him to no avail. Is he still in business?
