Title: Bus conversion insurance
Post by: RandyApling on September 12, 2022, 07:08:29 PM
Total newbie here looking at buying a 68 gm PD 4107 that has been converted in the late 80's. Called my insurance lady at State Farm and seemed very confused about covering it, had to call underwriter. So obviously not familiar with buses, is there someone that specializes in them? also I'm in Alaska.

I bet you said bus. Never. Hope it is licensed as a motorhome. I have been with State Farm (now Desjardins) since 1984 with my bus sorry motorhome. I had to have it appraised at the beginning and receipts for parts put into it.

I was with John Miller for (Rip) years haven't had much luck from his daughter, so I went with State Farm after she quoted me 8000 bucks  through Progressive.John was a bus owner (Miller Time) and would work for you finding the best deals for less money

Yeah but Cliff-you have a factory made motorhome now. I almost lost my insurance through Progressive-even though I've been with them for almost 30 years. But they gave me my insurance on the super C Kenworth. Good Luck, TomC

We tried 3 companies and they all said you have a what?
Finally got a good rate with progressive. They wanted a picture and I though that would kill it, but they took us.

True but State Farm had better coverage with $250.00 glass breakage for less than $2100.00 a year ,I saved $6000.00 going with State Farm
