A great young man, many of us know his story, is on need of our help.
Matt Opper, owner of the fabulous Beluga Bus, the green wonder, was hit in the front, head on. The 1947 GM, he's put so much time and effort into. It Has been sitting, in need of repair. He's on the BCM and you can write to him here. lvmci..
No insurance involved?/>>>Dan
Is it home or stranded somewhere due to the accident?
Is Matt OK?
Where is the Bus?
Why is Matt not here telling the story and letting us know what he needs?
Matt's bus was hit head on sitting in his yard back in Jan,Matt is a nice young family type guy I don't think he is asking for help except for parts locations not many of those buses around
Matt is ok, bus was hit in January, guy ran into the front doing 40 mph, parked at his house. The bus is in Santa Ana, CA since May, at a repair shop. Yes insurance involved. Of course I've never know insurance to cover everything, especially on motor homes, even less on conversions. I suggested a go fund me page. At some point Matt will get on the forum, to answer questions. Nice guy, tough situation...
LOL every time I see Matt and the Beluga all I think about is the hours I spent at Rafi's concerts with the grand kids singing Baby Beluga, and The wheels on the bus go-around and around,
Matt rates up there with the world's most incredible people . We have the age old question of "why do bad things happen to good people?"
Great news that he, or his family was not involved.
Thanks for the positive thoughts, the bus is in good hands and the other guys insurance will cover all the damages. A young guy was doing 40mph a down my road at night with snow and ice. I live at a hairpin turn and he slid off the road, hit the front of the bus, the went through my neighbors garage. He was ok, but his 2022 Bronco was totaled.
Hey Neighbor glad you are ok and all is well. :^
Hi Mikey glad you are doing good too. Doreen said Hi too. :^

You spending another winter in the land of Oz ?
Hey Matt. Sorry to hear about your bus. Best wishes for a good repair.
sorryfor your dilema. with the pitiful settlement from the insurance company, best bet is to move to a newer bus or coach, already converted or shell.too many parts unobtanable.
And when you get it back, park something big in front of it for protection. Like an old school bus.
Rats! Did I say that outloud? Sandra is probably getting out her "Ted" voodoo doll right now and looking for needles....!
Glad you and yours are ok and hope you get your labor of love back in working order.

Yep, We have an address here for now and are fulltime until Wife gets done with her Liver therapy We have an address here for now and are fulltime until Wife gets done with her Liver therapy (she is at 40% and that is the most it has been in 25 years) and VA stuff. We are not going back to California and have been to many states but it is like the 50 and 60's here a little slower less people just a little windy-er than we like it in the winter fall time. Cheaper to live here. Both car and bus are plated and tagged in Pottowatomi county Kansas now. 80.00 for both and no inspections. Still have California Drivers licenses and addresses in both states and VA stuff. OZtober fest is soon too, LOL
Been through three tornadoes so far with the sirens and running to shelters etc. seem to go around this area but close and 90 MPH winds last year.
Roseville California is 115 today where we came from. To hot for us.

Totally agree, Mike don't you think you should change your coach picture? Red Ride is "on fire" on the west coast now ;D
Hi Dave, best wishes for Doreen to get well. Your right the whole west is crazy hot for this time of year. This weekend a hurricane is coming up thru Baja, 2 weeks ago 2 tornados struck So Nevada, our once every 20 year occasions...
Matt-so sorry to hear about your bus. I hope you get it fixed and rebuild the 4-71! Looking forward to seeing you again. Good Luck, TomC

When attending a Detroit school at Emporia not far from you lol sometimes we would get 3 tornadoes week
If you get bored check out the Detroit rebuilding plant in Emporia when Detroit owned it, you could tour it, don't know if you still can now or not
Glad to hear nobody was seriously injured, especially the driver going 40 mph. Testament to the safety built into cars now.
Just curious about the insurance discussion about a payout for a total? It must have come up; just good info if others get into similar situations.
