Hey BK,
Now you be careful when you change their diaper's, with baby's that big you could get it all over yourself LOL.
Oh' we are hoping to get down and visit you when the weather breaks, and see those's new bouncing baby's of yours.
Bryce, congratulations. They make cigars for "It's a Boy," "It's a Girl" --- do they make "It's a Bus"?
Arthur
BK, all the best with the new "babys". Plenty of miles left in them I'm sure.
That 60 will go over a million miles with ease, but you know that already,LOL.
Glad to hear you guys are expanding and surviving in these tough times.
I wish you a $$$$$$ 2007 season.

Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy, Bryce and Company!

Thanks everyone! So far we made it from Rexburg, ID to Montpelier, ID the first night (after loading spare parts, going over every inch of'm, fighting with the banks about the $ transfers and such we hit the road about 7;30 mtn-8:30 cntrl). Then we made it on to Cheyenne for fuel (we are getting 6.5 on the 8V and 7.7 on the 60!). Then we stopped in Sydney, NE for the night! Gonna head out for home here in a few! I bet we end up getting 1 more hotel (this trips been harder on dad than he'll admit!), I figure we'll make it down to somewhere out side of St. Louis for the night! Well gotta go get the oil checked and ready to pull out dad just got outta the shower! BK ;D
Is 18 years old the norm for commercial carriers to buy busses? I thought that was the age when they sold them to busnuts.
BK,
Congrats, to you, your dad, and Lakeside Travel with your new additions!
Have a safe trip.

Since you ask, no it may not be the norm! But neither are we! We are small time, and just doing what it takes to survive as are many other operators running old equipment! That said all 3 are newer than the '86 102A3 we also currently run,
and I ain't afraid to send it anywhere at anytime! Now for the rest of the story! For what we paid you could actually say we bought the '95 45' S217 for less than book value, and received the other 2 as freebies!
So what would you do? Take 'em home spend a little $ on them and let them make $$$$$$.$$ for you? Or would you just leave 'em parke only take the 45'er ? ? ?
From my personal experienes it's the older equipment that's paid for (but well maintained!) that makes the money! The nice new shiney high payment & insurance costing equipment is what makes you look like you got $, but really the bank & insurance companies are the only ones making it! JMHO! FWIW! BK ;D
I still see quite a few charter companies running 102A3s and C3s, but a lot are starting to shift to the D series. I would think fuel economy and the 45' length are the big reasons to move up to the D series.

Got any pics of those babies?
BK;
congrats on the new baby's when do we get to see the pic's.
come on man what gives. most new papas pass out cigars or bubble gum or some thing.
Congratulations
If you get tired hauling #1 bus back home you can always drop it off here instead. :) I might even be persuaded
to clean out my 40X60 quanset so as not to get #1 wet. :o
Sounds like a lot of road time but hopefully some fun along the way.

Ok here are some that were sent too me before we bought them! I've taken some on the way home and since we got home. But the ones I took are to large to post ! & I know nothiing about resizing them! Here's 4 of the 45'er BK ;D
These are the inside of the 45'er!
Great looking bus, and the bays look pretty large too! It would make for a great conversion.
Hey BK - Nice buses - Great to drive huh???
Jim: The 215 has 370 CF of under floor storage - and the one BK has 510 CF of space - and I sure hope they make great conversions - I'm trying to do just that.
Mine is the S215HDH -( I don't know what HDH stands for) But I'll try.

Hey Harry hows it going? Yes they are great to drive! I love them! By the way Harry We now have 2 S215 HDH models and 1 S217 HDH ! (I sold the old S215 HDH, and now I wish I hadn't!) But any way heres what I always told people HDH stood for "Heavy Duty Hauler", but if I ever get to convert one it'll be "Hillbilly Deluxe Hilton!" LOL! I'll get some more photo's posted as soon as I figure out how to downsize them or somethin! BK ;D
Hey BK - Sorry it took so long to get back - As you can see by that last post try my computer was screwing up real bad - and I'm sure you will enjoy the new baby's - and I'm glad you and your Dad made it back ok - Hope the new ones make you lots of money - Harry
Hey BK.......Now all you need is a 1:50 scale model of it in your paint scheme/lettering .
let me know if your interested I have a few left.
here is a photo of a custom painted one
Hi BK,
Good looking buses. What was your MPG for the whole trip home? It didn't look like that big of a difference between the 92 and the 60 series; long time to pay off a conversion.
HarLee,
I am about to get my steel tent retitled as a HM. The wife and I are planning a weekend trip to Salt Creek Park to celebrate that milestone maybe we could meet at the '101 Diner' for coffee or breakfast.
