Post by: scanzel on March 16, 2007, 11:42:10 AM
I have a 9kw generator that I want to mount in a bay. What is the best item to use to mount it on the be able to pull it out at times? Does someone out there sell one already :) made? Joey Bed etc.

Ace made his own very cleverly from channel and some wheels from an industrial supply catalog.  It has a lower profile than almost anyting you can buy.  This was talke about at length in some previous posts.

I didn't use a slideout at all, much simpler, but I positioned my genset so I can reach all the maintenance items from the side.  Easier to hookup, as I didnt have to compensate for any movement.

I used the 1000lbs Joey bed and it works great. I did have to strengthen the side wall a little. It works great and very easy to use. I did place a trailer jack on the front to make it easier to roll out and to decrease the front bow. I got a few joey beds on ebay.

Good luck!
