Title: PM glitch
Post by: Tedsoldbus on April 09, 2022, 08:01:42 AM
To Griffin and others recently. I sent 2 sentences to star fleet command a day ago about the PM issue. When I send a PM, the computer locks me out of BCM when I hit send. I have to shut computer off for 20 minutes. Then all back to normal. I checked my messages that I sent. It did send, but then the pinwheel of death for BCM until I shut down. Hope they solve it.

Just a WAG, but have you tried clearing the cache on your browser? Then delete the cookies for BCM. After that you'll have to log in again but it might help.

Thanks. Will try that. I have seen about 4 people in the last few days say they can't PM right now so I think it goes further than that, but will try your suggestion.

I'm going to have to chime in here - just tried to send a test message and it locked up the works.

Very strange - this whole thing. I sent a test message to Rancher earlier. It caused my browser to lock up, but apparently he did get the message. Very curious why we're all having difficulty.

I did get the message but when I tried to reply it locked my browser up also.

No doubt the long arm of a Putin Cyber attack....
I am sure star fleet command is on it.

Sorry Guy's,

I will forward to Phil for review. There may be an overload of spam hitting us.

Kind Regards
Nick-

I had trouble accessing your site last week. Wouldn't  finish loading almost all the time. Finally deleted and reloaded site. Working fine now.

Will this have anything to do with the total inundation of "Trade Nigeria" advertising flooding all the BCM spaces, including a drop down?

The drop down started a little while ago, if this change wasn't done by you guys... it would be nice for it to leave...

Happy coaching!

I've been having the same problem, trying to post a PM, only to have the entire system lock up. The same experience on 2 completely different computers, internet and locations, all on the same day.

I see scores of ads showing up on mine for last week. I have Avast on my tablet so otherwise it is working ok.

I didn't realize until reading this, but I responded to a PM last week and experienced the same lock up!
I just thought it was on my end, but now I know better!

Hi bus folks!
Yes, we are aware have been working the issue.  (and thanks for jumping in Nick re: forward!) Looks like a patch went on which adversely affected some of the site functionality.

We are also looking at moving the site to a different provider with better resources.  This would be happening soon and we have the provider identified.  We'll also be posting to the forum before we take steps to move.

More soon and thanks for your patience!,

Phil

Thanks for your relentless efforts over several years to resolve issues as they come up.  Thanks to Krash for your help over the past year to update the Forum software and for working with Phil to move forward to get our Forum moved over to a more reliable system.  Keep up the great work.
