I just talked with a man in Klamath Falls Oregon who has a 1991 Neoplan. He said it has an 8 cylinder Detroit but couldn't tell me more specifics. He said it cranks but doesn't run. He hasn't found anyone in the area that can help him troubleshoot it. Does anyone here know someone in that area I can put him in contact with?
Thanks
This is not any kind of emergency, he lives there.

Gee, you're outa touch, Van. SOD quit working on buses a long time ago. Got burned by too many cheap #@*& busnuts. They sold their big shop out on I-5 to Pape Kenworth and moved to the back of the yard and I think mostly focus on diesel pickups now. Good guys.
:^
There's a guy up in Eugene who is mobile diesel mechanic that's very good, he did the tune up on my bus and fixed lots of oil leaks.
He used to be on Detroit field development teams and hey he does cuss interestingly!!!
That would be Joe Maser.
you have contact info for Joe? Nice to tuck away details just in case

No way would Joe Maser use a cuss word ;D ;D unless he talking, his number may be on the Grease Monkey video when he redoing Crosby's engine, I only have his cell number and I don't pass out peoples cell numbers
Joe is a great mechanic. He worked on our MCI 7 8V92. Highly recommend him. No, I don't give out people's numbers either.
No worries. Must be the Joe I found. Who has this many buses on their lot? LOL
Thanks for the info.
This man told me he was told he needs a new ECM, and the junction box is a mess.
I think there's a very good chance the ECM is fine and a wire is bad somewhere, but I am not there to help troubleshoot. I pointed him to this page for assistance if he can do the troubleshooting himself.

Yes that's his base. Told him about a cracked exhaust manifold and he came back in a couple of minutes with a replacement for my 8V71.

Need a little more details have him check if the check engine doesn't come on and go off then he has no power to the ECM,the year model is a DDEC ll (12v) if he hooked it up to 24v he probably does need a ECM.He has resetable breakers in the battery box have him check those 1st
Don, Thanks good research and I will put that in note book. :^

Joe has or did have a office phone number,I am trying to find it he doesn't mind posting it .He does a few bus jobs when he is slow but mostly works for the logging industry.I don't know what his rate is now but it is up there.LOL if you guys done F/B he is there
My 91 Neoplan has a 8-92 with 748 allison. The DDEC II breaker is in the center panel with the transmission electronics. Almost under the rear stairs if it is a Cityliner.
Bill Barns is a great diesel mechanic in Klamath Falls. Send me a Private Message if you want his contact info.
He used to be my next-door neighbor in Anaheim, CA then moved back there to his hometown about 5 years ago. He worked on my bus when I drove thru there about 3 years ago. He is very good and his prices are very reasonable.
