Title: Savannah, GA Looking for a place to stay.
Post by: D+C4106 on March 14, 2007, 07:18:51 AM
Good morning everyone,   We are planning a trip to Savannah this weekend for about 4 days.  We found Skidaway Island State Park online, is this any good ?   Any other locations will be considered as well.  Thanks in advance for your thoughts,   Denis    4106  with toad.

Skidaway State Park is a beautiful park. We have not stayed there yet, but have driven through it several times.  Saw several 40' Prevost in there.  I do not how busy they are this time of year, we were there in October. It was not nearly full then.
While in Savanah, I recommend the trolley tour from the Tourist Center. a lot of beautiful old homes and parks on that tour as well as lot of history.  Jack

If you go to Tybee island, Try the little Crab Shack on the right for lunch.  Jack

We have stayed at Skidaway State park in our 4104 and loved it.  All wooded and large sites and lots to do and see.

Skidaway is the best. That is the exact spot where my bus is sitting in my avatar picture. I recommend it highly.

We were in Savannah in December (It's my wife's favorite place in the world), and on one of the tours, the guide said they have only attempted to dye the river green 1 time..... it turned purple instead, so they gave it up.....  :)

Thanks everyone.  We will be leaving Sat. AM unless the snow is too deep!  Our intent is to get into Savannah midday Sunday.  We booked Skidaway,  thanks for the info on  things to do and see.    Denis
