I have been towing my Jeep Liberty for many years without a toad vehicle braking system and have had no issues. We are looking to tour the midwest and think maybe I should invest in something. What system is everyone using and which ones are better than others?
NASA cable surge brake. Works great.
Behind a bus,, the only choice is M&G air over hydraulic system,, it works particularly well with a Liberty.. I have had it on two Liberty's.. ( A 2002, first year for the Liberty and 2012, the last year for the Liberty.)>>>Dan

Scanzel -I agree with Dave - I have the same company's unit. Definitely uses the KISS principle compared to the majority of other systems out there. Relatively inexpensive, too! Here's the link:

FWIW & HTH. . .
;)
I'll stand with Demco's AirForceOne!
There's been so much typed on this already...
The forums are searchable a lot better than the (profanity deleted) social media...
happy coaching!

M&G air over hydraulic - progressive towed braking at it's best with towed reserve air tank for break away protection.
Heaven forbid your towed causes an accident or adds to the upset w/o active towed braking - your insurance company will walk away.
Anybody have any experience with the Blue Ox Patriot Braking System's?
I've had the Even Brake for many years, portability between fiat and jeep, a few years back Roadmaster at Quartzsite checked it out and did minor adjustments, lvmci...
my sister has it and likes it other than it takes up a lot of space

Easy, quick hook-up. Just two cables in addition to hooking up with no brake system. Has break away system to apply the brakes in case the toad gets away.

X5, easy install, easy hookup.
I like the Surge Brake idea. Have been looking for something simple
It's on Amazon for cheap!
M & G for sure. No moving anything around each time you tow. Used it for 30+ years.
I just bought the NSA surge brake, got it on, just haven't gone anywhere with it yet.
