The terrible damage by the largest tornado in recorded history, prompts the question, has anyone of our busnut friends been affected?
It was a bit south and west of me so fortunately all we had here were some high winds. Very devastating though for anyone in it's path.

Spoke to Steve Gaines (Kentucky Steve), they are ok! They live some 30 miles away from the affected areas, our hearts and prayers go out to all there!
Cold air and hot air don't mix well, tornados in OK I do not miss, lol freezing your @$# off in the Az desert is not my thing either it is 33 degrees here
I didn't get affected by the tornadoes but last month the atmospheric river of rain that came down in northwest Washington and British Columbia caused the coldwater river in Merritt to break through the dyke right beside the claybanks rv park in Merritt bc. When we escaped in our 4x4 the water was knee deep and within minutes was six feet deep and flooded a third of the town of Merritt. It took three days for the water to recede and my beloved ciach pd4107-931 is a total write off and will be crushed according to insurance adjuster. Thank god we had insurance and will have to see what happens from here
Tornados are nasty I have cleaned up behind a few around Tulsa,I cleaned up one between Tulsa and OK City at a outlet mall they found Levis over 100 miles from where it touched down all kinds of stuff in trees miles from the location, they are deadly if you are in the path of one
look up tornado Griffin Ind. 30 mile north of us---this weekend was about 40 miles south of us. We watch weather very close here. We have a safe room..
If anything would be fine after a little swim, it would be your GM...
Insurance adament about destruction, or can you get the "carcass" back??
Happy coaching!

right. interior might be shot but youd think shell would be solid anyways?
Absolutely recoverable.
But someone has to get into the drivetrain asap, drain and refill contaminated fluids, confirm no hydrolock of cyclinders, and get it fired up. And then the differential and wheel ends.
Other than chasing out the water and silt/sand that came with it, the chasis won't care about being wet.
Got to be some busnuts that would pile on to help you with this recovery project?
Happy coaching!

Because of dealer's in the past moving and selling water damaged vehicles in other states they have passed laws where they have to be scrapped in most states now
That would be very interesting if states force water damaged vehicles to be scrapped in the home state. What does scrapped mean? Can a yard dismantle parts then send those off for sale out of state? Does the entire contents have to be sold within the state?
Depending on the loopholes or not, there may be a bountiful of excess parts lying around in the yards of states like Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, etc. where river flooding and hurricane damage must generate a ton of parts.
Copart sells COD vehicles all over the country, it's not a government mandate for the destruction of a vehicle but is the insurance companies way to limit liability and not end up paying multiple claims on a vehicle. Not easy to get insurance on a salvage rebuild- FWIW
I bought a Prevost H-41 that was flooded because water damage a few years ago and Texas would not give me a tiltle and AZ told me no way. I sold it at a big hit money wise and it went to Canada to be parted out. A guy in Ky sold a MCI C converted by Custom Coach his personal bus that went under water and had to refund the buyers money. There are state laws one has to check those careful in each state I know Texas will not title one because I have seen new cars being crushed after floods there lot of states at auction have a "after sell use" you have to sign. Texas will give you a salvage title for fire and wrecks but not for water. Copart only sells to dealers now
I wish i was able to buy it back but British Columbia is like a lot of states and when they write off your vehicle you are no longer able to buy it back. It gets sold as scrap to be crushed. I don't know if they can salvage the engine trans and axle with the wheels and tires. All brand new tires on polished alcoas. Had hot water on demand new furnace newfridge all salvagible but bus shell must be crushed never to be registered on the toad again. Breaks my heart I would be the first in line to get it back if possible but not happening
What kind of fan drive and where will it be crushed or parted out
If water logged cars are crushed by insurance companies to minimize further fraudulent claims and parts issues, then I understand but also very sad to learn so much of a car that could be easily salvaged gets put into the crusher.

It is sad to me when I visit my friend Alvin in Stockton Ca that owns Acme truck parts cutting holes in the 2 stroke blocks for dumb @$# laws
In Florida F S. CHAPTER 319.30 covers the subject of salvage titles and COD's, and there is no place in it where the state initiates the issuance of either, only the requirements for the issuance or maintenance thereof. I'm not sure of the rest of the states but I've not heard of one that is much different, but there may be - FWIW
Likewise the A$$hats that forcibly run away good engines for views on YouTube. Drives me crazy. $hit, even a core is worth quite a bit. Surprised they do not sell them.

You can find it in the inursance regulations in Texas, they gave me a copy when I complained ,it came about when some dealers owned 150 dealerships, like Red McComb owned 300 across the US and buy the cars for pennies clean and move to the cars to another dealership and sell for new at deep discounts, the factories took a screwing for warranty work along with the consumer so Texas stopped it.They can move new cars anywhere since they are not titled till sold all they have is the "origin of manufacture"title same with any type vehicles that requires registration
