I am trying to help a friends family sell these buses due to a death in the family. I know the two Silversides pretty well. The Flx has a nice low mile Series 50 with a B500, professionally installed. The bus itself has been vandalized and is heavily rusted out, but the drive train is real nice. All of them run and drive. PM me for info if interested.
Prices on the Silversides are 2,500 each or 4,500 for both. Pretty good buys.
Dang Mark! If only I had a place to stash these, I'd take em' all!
All the best ;)
Me too, Van. I might take one anyway. That 50 Series and B500 is really a sweet set up. Jake and retarder, Davco 380, nice air cleaner, new starter, nice installation.
Are they located in WA state?
They are priced to move it seems to me. Worth it just for parts. How far would you venture to drive them?

Those would look good at your new place on the golf course Mark and Kathy wouldn't mine I am sure :^ but a 9 iron for a neck tie you may not like
LOL, yeah Cliff there is only so much that even a good woman can take. Sonia and Kathy are worth their weight in gold! Put an ad on Craigslist-Eugene last night and the phone lit up like a slot machine. Three showings today, and all three guys wanted both buses. Will see who wins.
Both of the Silversides sold within 12 hours of posting on CL. One fellow bought both. Flxible still for sale.
Hey Boomer,
I know you are trying to help people. I will PM two names and phone numbers of National Flxible guys that might know someone to bite on that, even just for parts.
Here are pictures of the 1960 Flxible Starliner and engine. Price is 3,500 for all. Sold on bill of sale as parts bus only, but starts, runs, well. No title. S50/B400, pro conversion.

. A good cheap setup for a MCi or Eagle owner for a swap from a old 2 stroke

Wow thought I'd never see this one again. Engine conversion was done by Gary Benett and myself @ B&B CochWorks.
That's one heck of a deal. Wish it was easier to get things across the border.

Clifford this bus was a hot rod after the engine swap. RJ drove the Gillig Phantom donor engine/trans bus back from Eureka to the shop for us. ;)

I hope the guy that was going to do a full restoration on the bus is ok
I guess it's ok to speak about it now. Larry at Paradise Coach Interiors passed away about three weeks ago. Some of us friends and customers of his over the years are trying to help clean out the shop and sell his three buses. Obviously a lot of stuff and a big job but must be done in 30 days. The two Silversides are sold but we must move this one as soon as possible if any of you out there can help out and pass the word to any interested parties. It will be on CL Eugene probably tomorrow or you can pm me. This is a great power pack for a T drive bus, MCI, Flx, Eagle or ? There is also about 3 sets of Visicoach/Starliner side windows and other parts including some windshields. Thanks for your help.

What was that, Van? I don't do fakebook.
It is a short video of the first fire up of the flex with the 50 series installed. that bus was a little hot rod when we sent it up to Larry's shop. did the interior ever get finished Mark? I read that it was vandalized, what a shame but it still has good bones.
Doesn't work Van.
If that bus is driving that's a smoking deal. 😬 I don't think that's in my budget or schedule unfortunately...
Only one side window got broken Van. But there are replacements there. He removed the windshields so they wouldn't get broken and they are still there. Evidently when they took out the interior paneling, the wall structures were rusted out so they didn't go further, just replaced the bus with another, which has since been completed (beautiful) and it was Larry's last conversion project. Sad.
Do you have the engine serial number? My diognostic software won't work because when MTU bought Detroit Diesel they make you pay 700 a year subscription now and I ain't gonna pay them.
I'll be over at Garys place Tues to finish a Cummins install and I'll see what he might have in his records Mark. ;)
Thanks Van :^
Tools?
Yes everything goes.
Mark call me on my cellphone today I cannot find your number. I will buy the flx if it hasn't sold yet,lol you may have to help get it here

Those 4 bangers push a 40 ft bus pretty darn good, you can get the same HP and torque from one as you can the 11.1 six cylinders series 60,only problem is dealing with oil pump balancing shaft at about 300,000 miles

IIRC the engine had just under 200Kmi. The asking price is well within reason, hell we had well over that just in Dick's hush matting in the rear luggage compartment as per the customer's request to not hear the engine. loved hearing the turbo spool up. ;)

That is not a problem Buddy ;) Now so far as Sonja, that is another story lol! :) "You got the place, I got the time ;)
This bus is back on the market, the person I was buying the power train to install in another bus the lady he was buying the bus from backed out of selling him the bus.It is a good buy
OK the Flx is sold. Had calls from all over, including two from Australia. The new owner has the drive train up for sale because he is after some other hard to find parts. He is pulling it out right there in Eugene, as well as all the other usable Starliner parts. Then the hulk goes to the scrapyard. So if anyone needs a nice engine/trans, it's for sale sitting on the ground.
