Title: PSI for wiper motor?
Post by: grantgoold on March 13, 2007, 08:56:35 PM
Does anyone have a clue regarding the appropriate amount of PSI to fire the air wiper motors in an MCI 9?

Thanks

Grant

I took my air wipers out ... but I bet it's close to system pressure

They're made to run at full 120psi.  If they don't want to go, simple go push the arm to get it going.  Personally, I hate air wipers, they get stuck, then have to stop in the rain to give them a push to get going again.  Yes, I've tried the WD40 into the air intake, just are worn out.  Electric, here I come.  Good Luck, TomC

A wiper motor last forever in Seattle because we use them everyday. A California wiper motor is probably dryed out. Gotta wonder what that means about the rest of the system. Dead valves can return to life if they sniff air brake alcohol for a few weeks.

Try some air tool oil, I use it on my dump truck wipers and they work very well.
