Thanks to Tom (oldmansax) for his help in getting the stranded lady friend of my wife get her Foretravel in Miami back on the road. He knew people on the Fortravel board that drove from the west coast of Florida, brought an old retired mechanic, diagnosed the problem with real test equipment, put in a new starter, and charged almost nothing. (Tom also helped me with a few things on my 6V92 when I sent him pictures.)
I didn't know Fortravel had a board?
It is nice to know there are still a few people around that just like to help. These guys went above and beyond. I was so overwhelmed with their kindness, in my bewildered enthusiasm I offered Tom and the gent from the west coast a kidney! Then I realized that would put me on dialysis....
Many on this board have that helpful quality about them and I am glad to have found it.
Tom is a good guy I never met him person (yet) but I have eaten some good crab cakes he sent me one time
Thanks for the followup. It's amazing to know people do care and are willing to help others these days. Sometimes if not all the time, I feel like a ship lost at sea myself.
You guys are too kind. I only did what others would have done in the same situation. I am also repaying just a little for the help I have gotten over the years from the people here (Clifford you paid me for those crab cakes many time over! LOL!) and on other boards. Why are we even on boards if we can't help and be helped?
Ted, as I said, I don't need a kidney but I'm still waiting for the knee I asked you for..... LOL!
There are a lot of good forums for all kinds of interests. When I had the MCI, this board and BNO kept me going. After we bought the first Wanderlodge, that board helped me. I belong to the Foretravel board because we almost bought one a couple of different times. That board is just as helpful to FT owners as this one is for bus nuts. I am happy and pleased that things worked out for the lady
That's what all of these forums are about: Happy Endings!
Thanks to all that help!
TOM
