Title: History of MCI-5B #S10408
Post by: Bill Gerrie on November 28, 2021, 05:04:22 PM
RJ or anyone with a list of where a coach came from.
A friend of mine in MI has a 1973 MCI-5B, VIN#S10408, unit #7084, made in Pembina ND. He would like to find out the original owners of this bus where is started out. Any info would be appreciated. We can find serial numbers all around that number but not his exact bus.

I don't know if you can still get the information from MCI but after I bought my bus and was ordering parts I would ask anyone I spoke with from MCI if they could look up the history of my bus and mostly they told me no BUT I kind of smoozed one lady and asked her and she emailed me the name and date of the original purchace and the company that bought it.  I printed it out and it is in my homemade owners manual.

I'm not sure you can still do that but it worked for me.

You can ask for a FVR - Final Vehicle Record. The official final as built record from MCI. Attached is the one from mine.

I have always found MCI hard to find out who ordered the bus unless it was for Greyhound or one of their carriers for some reason they never gave out any info  for conversion shells
