As I sort my list(s) of fix'em items, I'm down to backup lights that don't light up.
Anyone who is familiar with Eagles know where I might find the switch/relay to activate the backup lights. I'm assuming something got disconnected along the line, I'm just not sure where to look.
I have an 8v71 and a manual 5 speed. Model 10. Thanks.
On the Model 10 automatic transmission it is in the shifter lever by the driver. There is also a circuit breaker in the front electrical box for the backup lights. Mine also has a backup alarm connected to the lights. Easiest way to find the switch is to get a wiring tone generator at Lowes/Home Depot for around $30. Really makes tracing wires a lot quicker. Having said all that my switch no longer works and I am not going to replace the shifter, so for me it will be a toggle switch to activate the lights and alarm.

That is what we did on our MC-8. Our switch was a pressure switch on the reverse hydraulic circuit of the 740 transmission. (the only time the lights could be on was with the engine running and in reverse. We replaced this with a dash mounted DPDT switch. Down is lights only and up is lights and back-up alarm. This allows lights to be used to connect in campground, connect toad, etc. without making a lot of noise or haviing engine running. Just our way "YMMV" Jack
Our backup lights are mounted in the camera pod and activated by a toggle switch by driver. Works good for us.
