;D
hi everyone....ok, so got some solar installed this weekend, and am on to the towbar situation this week....I have decided on the Roadmaster brand.and the one that stays on the coach, so since i dont need 10,000 lbs pull abilityi guess my options are the Falcon2 or Falcon 2 Allterrain. Anyone got anythign to say baout either of those setups? Ive found the Falcon 2 Allterrain for $584 seems cheapest price and the Falcon2 $499. Seems the Allterrain has the new latch, does anyone have expierence with it ? It is supposed to be so much easier, so i read.....jsut wondering if it is worth the $......that much easier? Also was looking at the Sterling Allterrain, quite spendy, and donk know if it would be as strong, even though they say it is.but I like that the safety cables are hidden inside....but, any negative thing to that?
I figured out i need the XL invisible brackets for my ford escortzx2 2001..so besides the brackets, towbar, safety cables, reciever hitch lock, tow bar cover and ...............? am i forgetting anything? I worry about having anyone touch the wiring on the car, so im thinking i may go with the magnetic lights instead.
anywya, if anyone has any final thoughts on this for me, I would really appreciate it ALOT ;D
I am gonna finally get this big one off the to do list, an wont feel so stuck anymore, once i have the set up, .....just gotta get someone locally to do it......
since my bus sits low, im wondering if i am gonna have to have them make a somethign to make it tow level for the reciever hitch on the bus for the tow bar to go in? do they do that?
k
Not sure on the towbar choice, but any of the modern name brands should be OK. If it looks good to you it should be the right choice!
I've got dohickeys and gadgets between my bus and toad so the 12 volt toad lights work on 24 volts. If I had to do it over again I would go with the magnetic type. Not sure on your bus, if it is 24 volt you will need to change the bulbs in the magnetic lites to 24 volt. Not a big deal. but buy a couple of spares!
The manual that comes with your tow bar will tell you how level it has to be with the bus. If you are buying from a dealer they should advise you on this. HTH
Kristine,
Go here and look at hitch adaptors. =

I have the regular Falcon II and like it very well and I cannot tell you anything about the all terrain. As for the hight arrangment I think you will have to see where it aligns first. A little ang is ok and if you have tow brakes shud be no problem. Jerry
I believe the height alignment needs to be within 4" either way. Other wise you risk the toad going under the coach.
Check www.hitchtrader.com for used towbars, brackets, and toad brakes. Very good deals on used equipment. This is where we found the XL brackets for our Grand Cherokee. Roadmast wanted over $300. We bought a used set from an individual on Hitchtrader for $100. Hope this helps, Jack
;D ;)thanx for th einput guys! i went to etrailers.and the one with the raise/ lower looks ok, but all i need is the raise....worry that the "lower" part of the reciever would drag in low spots....wonder if there is one with the raise only on it? been lookin but no luck so far.....and been to hitchtrader too, and posted what i need, but to get the brackets for my exact model seems liek a sit and wait game, which i dotn have much time to do that.btu i posted jsut in case :) so thanx! any other thoughts anone????? :D :D :) ;D ;)
