Took a drive through there today. Hit 121 degrees. There was a fuel statio. there. Sure glad didnt need any.
Yikes Chessie. "How to cook a Prevost". Do you have TPMS? Curious how much the tire temp/pressure varies at 120. And does rolling down the highway cool them??
Get out of there before your paint cracks.
Safe Travels
Have tpms on truck and tt. Only drove truck. Tire pressure increased 10 lbs. over base setting. Normal day goes up 6.
Interesting observation. There was a new Jeep covered in black and white came to hide the final details from the camera guys. He was stopped at intersection where temps hit 121 degrees. He was looking at a computer screen just to right of steering wheel. Didn't move as we lost sight of him. Also saw two people in all white outfits sort of jogging a piece and then a car that appeared to be a bicycle chase car. Nothing else, no prairie dogs, no lizards, no nutin.
We commented it would be a good location to install 100 square miles of solar panels. Then, Death valley would be good for something
There were a lot of mines in Death Valley that go from gold and silver down to clay I like to visit the old Borax mine on cool days lol you have to like the name Furnace Creek
Clifford the borax mine reminds us of our last good president. Ronald staring on 20 mule team days.
The last few years of his term i do not think he even knew who he was. did a great job though.
LOL
uncle ned
I was standing out side the bus and my feet started to get warm so I shot the ground temperature and it was 201 degrees, the old tale of people freezing to death at night time in death valley is just a tale the temps don't drop that much at night
there was a sign for 20 mule team with an arrow pointing to a gravel road. we decided to pass.

Solar panels lose efficiency like crazy as temps go up. Sunlight = good. Heat = bad.
Lowest temp ever in Death Valley is 15*.......
Death Valley is absolutely beautiful October through March. Zabrinski Point at sunrise is breathtaking. One of our favorite areas, but you must appreciate the beauty of the desert.
Any body coming to LV from the south or east on US93 or 95, will see thousands of acres of solar voltaic fields, this new part surrounds Boulder City to the south, all within the extended city limits...

Seems like the farm grows 10 acres a week it is about to cover the dry lake now and on both sides of the highway.I notice the last batch remotely follows the sun
If it is on CA side, then no surprise due to the state directives and goals to be carbon neutral in not too many years

It is just outside Vegas ,they were going to build a 9000 acre farm @ Battle Born (Overton) Nev but the people put a stop to it because it was Chinese owned Harry Reid's son Rory was involved and the rancher Bundy case blew it out of the water
We just passed by Palm Springs exit on I-10. Couple hundred wind turbines. Only about 10 were barely turning.
We passed the couple thousand solar panels outside Las Vegas. Yes the newest ones are designed to rotate that we saw near the road. Those were parallel to road to follow sun. There were many that were perpindicular, that wouldnt benefit by rotation. Probably were older ones.
Ah old Cliven and his son Ammon is running for the Governor of Idaho where he is not even aloud in the Capital and he set up a compound in Southern Oregon where they believe it is ok for them to take over the land but no one else can do that accord to them, LOL :^
The BLM and ranchers plus the sheep herders in Idaho and Or has always been a mess, most of the permits favor the ranchers,we have a friend in Jordon Valley Or that hasn't paid a penny in 10 years for grazing because of a drought clause in his permit. Now new permits are good for 10 years the older permits some were good for life carried down to next generation those are the ones the BLM are after lol there is nothing in Southern Or and Southwest Id anyways let the cows ,horses and sheep have it or Ammon, Idaho has a lot of open range grazing no one controls it or pays fees
we sure travelled across thousands of acres of land even a prairie dog could eake out a living. Thousands of miles of fence, very few cattle.

What pisses people off out west and Alaska the government own 60 % of land and in 11 states out here they own 45% or more plus they have water and mineral rights, here water rights are worth more than the land,Idaho has plenty of water
85% of Nevada is BLM and other federal agencies...
What they call Rolex Ranchers in Idaho like the Ted Turners and others control lots of BLM land. JR Simplot of Idaho was one he could play the BLM and Forest Service like a fiddle they never questioned what he did on BLM land, or he would exchange a worthless piece of property for one that had value and make the BLM think they got the better deal
Sounds like Howard Hughes.

Yep money = power the government doesn't look at the land being public and that is not political just a fact when you pay 5 bucks to gain access to some spots here in the valley, don't lose your senior pass to the parks that jewel cost 80 bucks now if you lose it

Best darn plastic card in my wallet. It's the only plastic card that don't spend but saves - gobs while on the road. Love using it on federal land...
