A couple months ago I saw a Silver Eagle Bus for sale in the Busconversion Magazine. I remember the bus had closed in the front door and build a nice cockpit and passenger area. The Eagle bus had cut in and built a mid bus entrance. I have included a pic of that bus interior in this post. If anyone has an outside pic of that bus that shows the closed in door please let me know.
I have a MCI 102dl3 with a mid bus wheelchair door. The wheelchair lift has been removed. I am considering closing in the front entrance door and using the side door for entrance. Have any of you done this before? If so, do you have any pics that shows your setup or the process you used to close in the door?
WTH - bus traitor! no longer a bus with no front entrance and the pull handle. LOL
An MC8 up here in Ontario had a mid stairway built into the battery box area, and front door closed in.
I wonder what happened to that coach, and the busnut?
Be a good idea to have your door options worked out first, then build the hole and stair to accomodate.
Be very careful that you don't make a falling hazard in your spacing and step heights. You can readily mock up a wooden stairway to test, before commiting to the metal work.
Happy coaching!

Our former IC-41 ACF Brill, had the entrance door about 1/3 of the way back. Was real nice for passenger to sit across from the driver. Even in conventional coach, a passenger only sits back a couple of feet in our 4905. We drop a hinged panel for feet.
Lot of Eagles were converted to mid entry doors ,I think doing a MCI will be more of a challenge than a Eagle ,then you see a few GM's with a mid entry to though, the BCM boss Gary his Eagle is mid entry
My bus already has the door. I would only have to have stairs that fold down for exit and entrance. Does anyone have any pictures of the buses you referred to?
Gary, if you read this can you post a pic of your closed in front door so I can get an idea of how to do this? Thanks
