Title: Wallmart
Post by: luvrbus on June 24, 2021, 02:24:48 PM
The WM grocery delivery is not a bad deal when camping I used it today and was impressed right on time and even the ice cream was frozen

Yeah its tough to take a 45 foot rig to the grocery store. Lol.
My daughter uses the store pickup and likes it. I like going to the store with wifey personally. Always something I need
They sure put it to the men though. Auto stuff is located in the furtherest back corner and mens clothing is 2/3 way back behind ladies and girls stuff.

You were lucky. 90% of WalMart's grocery deliveries are handled by DoorDash. As a driver, WM doesn't pay worth a blown injector tip - $3 to drive nine miles to deliver ten bags of groceries, three cases of water, and a 50lb bag of dog food to a third story apartment? Doesn't even pay to start the engine!

Sure, it's convenient for the customer, but for a driver trying to pay bills like everybody else, WM orders suck.

Probably takes several orders to that location at same time.  Driver needs to be efficient in his delivery operation. Sure, there are probably a few he doesn't make anything on. Do they accept tips?

I wonder if that is before, or after, vehicle expenses?  That is still pretty good for a job that requires little skill.

It looks like Walmart partners with a number of delivery companies for same day delivery, not just Doordash.  It seems to vary by area of the country.

We get all kinds of stuff delivered to the Campground. we have had pizza, Amazon many times, RV parts, anything you can get on line and sent or Door Dash will deliver any food anytime of day. Some deliver to our sites and others to the office and then the resort workers bring it to our Bus. We even get our mail when we need it from California Postal box by just calling them and tell them to send it to us where ever we are and it arrives in a few days for about 5.00.

They won't deliver to my house, about 8 miles, or my daughter, less than 1/2 mile.

Some told us that in some areas you have to join "Walmart Plus" to get deliveries. We never did though and we get them. Just make sure you read the fine print before they charge you recurring fees if you pay by the month.

In some areas there are also minimums like $30.00 or more.
