About $2.95/gal up here in Wisconsin right now. Found some for about $2.50/gal on the way back from NM two weeks ago.

Someone's gouging where ever that sign is.

Again, why do so many people want to live out there? On top of drought and heat, you've got some of the highest fuel prices.

That would be a good area to pass through to get ready for sticker shock into NW CN & AK.
Like everywhere there are advantages & disadvantages.

Hi Chessie, that station and the Mobile near by are always a dollar more than Flagstaff. The only regular price gas is the Circle K. Even the truck stop up the hill is cheaper, lvmci...

I drove my bus from Las Vegas to Phoenix on May 7th.  I believe it was gasoline I saw for $3.99 somewhere between Vegas and Phoenix.  I was warned to not fill up between the two towns.  I bought diesel at a Sam's Club in Las Vegas for $2.80 which was cheap compared to $3.25 and up elsewhere.  I topped off in Phoenix for about $2.60 per gallon.

By planning my fuel stops carefully I was able to average about $2.75 a gallon for the my 3,800 mile trip.  I figured I would be lucky to average $3.00 per gallon, but the highest I paid was $2.99 and that was the station less than ten miles from home.  My fuel cost was $200 to $300 less than I planned on.

Average. Outside Holbrook AZ. Pretty breezy. Helped because temps were 104 to 106 every day. Little to no shade. Mostly gravel park. Sites pull through. Cement pad alongside all hookups, with 50 amp. Wifi, although not strong.

Just saw that the ave. price for regular gas in Hawaii is 3.99.  One station on Maui has it at 3.89 and diesel at 4.49,  Molokai will usually be even higher.

They are burning oil now. Colorado and Arizona has  fire restriction on. No campfires, no fireworks. Grand Canyon has camping restrictions too.
Quite a ride on Durango and Silverton today, except guy across from us talked to his party about 20 minutes shy of 4 hours.
Sure was great scenery. And they have a nice museum there. Little bit of everything in it. No busses though.

New member 1st post I will be starting a topic on my efforts to convert a 1997 Prevost H3-45 former passenger coach.......

Just to make you all feel a bit better about your diesel prices, I live in Surrey, BC Canada
a litre of diesel up here is $1.46 cdn
3.78 litres per US gallon = $5.55 cdn per US gallon
$5.55 cdn = $4.52 USD/gallon :'(

I hope that makes you all feel a bit better about your "relatively" cheap diesel prices......and don't feel to bad for me I am only 15 minutes north of the US border and about 1 hour from Bellingham, Washington where diesel goes from $1.46/litre cdn down to $0.91/litre cdn so when I need to fill my 890 litre (235 US gallon) tank I will be doing a little road trip

Golden Corral is open in Sacramento. Fried chicken still good and the senior early bird dinner price is hard to beat!

Some people may think I'm dragging the topic of subject but I would argue food is FUEL for people and yes I was serious
The closest thing to Sonic up here in Canada is dairy queen and that would be like comparing McDonalds coffee to Starbucks
and Golden Corral may not be 5 star dinning but once again there is nowhere I know of in Canada that even comes close to the incredible select that they offer

we stopped at a Sonic in Az.Second time ever stopped. Last 20 years ago. Got a milkshake. It was decent. Menu looked ok. Will stop again on our travels.
Problem with Golden Corral is same as a lot of other run down or gone businesses. Not enough reinvestment in the business. McDonalds knows this. They refurbish or replace their stores to keep them up to date.
In Florida, the snowbirds love Golden Corrals. Good price and eat something different every night. Good for kids, especially for fussy eaters. Anyone ever eat at Ponderosa? Loved their wings.

Ponderosa's headquarters used to be in Dayton within sight of my office, but they are long gone now, along with Bonanza. Golden Corral's are still strong here, they even drove out places like Ryan's Buffet. I'm getting hungry. It seems that places that offer all you can eat, and fairly good food, get eaten out of business.

We still have sonic and a golden corral, but no sizzelers in LV, but there's no place like LV for buffets,  whether cheap beige food or extravagant seafood or multi national food,  it was my dad's favorite...

Chessie -

Diesel is $3.27 at Costco here in Coeur d'Alene, if you're coming this way (5% bio). Walmart is $3.31 for 20% bio, and Fred Meyers is $3.32, not sure of the bio content.

(PS: Have often seen Pilot/Flying J tankers dropping fuel at WallyWorld)

Other stations here in town are about a dime more per gallon.

But cross the border into WA and you'll immediately pay a minimum of 45ยข/gallon more for diesel - different tax rate.

Even tho Clifford pooh-poohs it, are you by chance using the TSD Logistics fuel discount program?

FWIW & HTH. . . ;)

I have the card but haven't used it yet. In pickup for this trip so only fill for about 30 to 34 gallons. Truck stop pumps were 4 deep so intimidating to use it for first time. For now using gas buddy for cheapest fuel.

If you are buying fuel in AZ those cards only work at the truck pumps it will cost another 8 cents a gal above the RV pumps to began with

I also noticed a sticker at car pumps for diesel. Big trucks and semis are required to use the truck pumps in the back. Unlawful to fill up at passenger vehicle pumps. I think it was in NM or AZ. Must be more road tax at truck pumps in that state.

It's AZ you pay 1/2 the road tax on diesel for RV's and other vehicles under 26,000 pounds.Sometimes you get a clerk at a station that tries to tell you that if you have a 3 axle RV you cannot fill at the pump so you need to make him or her read the fine print RV's are exempt  it is there
