Title: MCI 9 Wiper motor air schematic?
Post by: grantgoold on March 10, 2007, 02:40:21 PM
I have a 1984 9 and need someone to provide me more detail regarding the air diagram. I have the parts/maintenance manuals and the detail is not enough. I have for ports to plug (one in, one out and two on either side of the valve body). I would also like to see the the detail related to how air gets to the valves and then to both motors.

Thanks

Grant

Grant, there isn't a whole lot of detail to the wiper system... it is probably the simplest system on the whole bus!  I have attached a simplified diagram of the system -- there are no other components but the dash switches and the motors.

The valve body on the motor has the ports labeled in raised print -- "IN", "PARK" & "EXH".  The one without the print is the one you plug.  I have also attached an annotated picture showing which one to plug.  The one on the opposite end is the exhaust and gets no fitting at all.  The two in the center need a 90-degree elbow each, and you should be able to see which is "IN" and which is "PARK".

John, thanks so much for the picture and the diagram. I was about crazy trying to figure out how three lines feed into four ports. Thanks again for your help.
