Title: Air clutch I made
Post by: Bearmtnmartin on June 11, 2021, 10:07:25 AM
I got the idea from some posts over here so I wanted to show you how I set up the clutch on my repower. I am using a roadranger 13 speed and this was a simple way to reduce clutch effort and avoid a mechanical linkage. Might be an option for some of you with stiff clutches and weak legs like me.

This is what it's all about. Thinking outside the box and being innovative. Bus converters are awesome people.

My former IC-41 ACF Brill had an air clutch setup. They used a brake treadle and a rotochamber to operate clutch. Worked pretty good. Added a restrictor in exhaust to smooth engagement.
