Thinking of starting to flat tow our jeep Rubicon which is the best and easiest to use tow bar?
Most any will do the job,, the least expensive will be Roadmaster..>>>Dan
The Roadmasters are nice. If you change vehicles in future, just buy new adapters and sell old ones on Marketplace or Craigslist or equivalent. The adapters are mostly bolt on. If you have the time and equipment, and low cost is importment, you can buy a basic tow bar and fabricate, bolt and or weld the adapters on.

Youll see that those Roadmasters are pretty pricey. I believe they are all stainless steel though. I would try to find a used on above sites before they get like gold. Adapters come up frequently for many vehicles. Fortunately, Jeeps are popular so good choice. Check Roadmaster site for which you need and what various models it also fits. Get part number to verify if you go for used.
LOL I have Roadmaster with BlueOx base plates
What model Rubicon jk, jl ???
We have roadmaster for our TJ 98 and found it on Ebay for 400.00 for everything except one bracket which I just welded up and attached. You can't weld on the Brackets because the driver side one uses the power steering 3 bolts. They bolt through the frame.
Niles we have a 2006 Rubicon Unlimited just bought a used Blue ox so when it comes in on the 11th I will figure out the mounting brackets

Ed -Just go on Blue Ox's website and order the "base plate kit" for your Jeep. Easy Peasy.

The 93 Jeep Cherokee that i just recently bought had the Roadmaster brackets but not the towbar. Found and bought a Roadmaster towbar today that came with 2 different sets of brackets....no idea of what they fit.
Not the whole bracket setup, just the removable arms from them, found a number on one set, 3122-1.
I found brackets for 2003 Suzuki Vitara on Craigslist. Took about 9 months for a set to show up.
Hey Ed you won't like this but here they are. :^

There are a couple on Facebook market place for Jeeps.
There are a couple on Facebook Market place for Jeeps. Also a few on all of Craigs.
We have a blue ox, because it is almost invisible when toad is not hooked to bus.
Of course, the other reason is that they are made in Nebraska
Dave, doesn't bother me at all, the jeep came with the brackets and i paid $100 for the towbar today so i am good to go! :)
Sorry Ed you have a Tj , my jk has a bolt on replacement for the cheep plastic skid plate, 1/4 steel ready for the blue ox, but I'm not sure if there's one for the Tj. Trying searching for a "blue ox Tj wrangler mounting plate" sorry again
Now on to the rating of the tow bar, round tube or square tube, wiring and the toad braking it always gets good :^
Part two of this is what braking system to use...

Yep I have owned 3 manufactures of braking systems and if you have room the M/G is the one I like best,it's preference like tow bars I don't like Roadmaster or BlueOx ,I didn't care for the price but I ordered a Demco now I need a new tow vehicle the Envoy is easy to tow but is a heavy sucker it is as heavy as Hatt's 450 Lexus
Yeah, I couldnt believe our Envoy was that heavy, like 5400 lbs. Ours had the 6 cylinder. It was like an inline Northstar. 20+ mpg on the interstate, but a heavy vehicle to tow. Sold it with about 206,000. Never used any oil either.
Clifford what about the Buick? Rides nice, A/C works well comfy seats, come on now, LOL :^
@ Niles, I have the TJ.
Ed has a Cherokee
It was great getting down to 4600lbs with the Cherokee after hauling the 6100lb Sierra. We love the $100 tow bar and the toad M/G supplemental brakes. Can't count how many times the toad four down on the tow bar has bailed us out...(hooked to the bus!)
Our 77 CJ5 and VW. Beetle toads were the lightest at just under 1-1/2 tons.
