Hello all,
I'm seeing a lot of seated buses out there for sale, so am considering this option.
As far as I can tell, the seats have very little resale value if any. Is there anyone who wants them? It would be cool if there was someone who wanted them simply for the removal, IE, if they remove them they can have them.
What options have any of you found for there disposal?
Thanks a million.

I stripped a whole set of seats down to metal and the rest. the rest went over time with the trash. the metal went along with other metal to a scrap yard for money. Not a lot but a little.
If you live in the west seats if recliners they are easy to get rid of ,the contractors fighting the forest fires buy the seats to replace the seats in the school buses they haul the personal in to a location
You may have interest in newer seats. Try a listing on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace, with good pics and in reclined position. May have luck selling in small quantities.
If they are in decent condition and you have a place to store them, you can eventually sell them in small lots. I've heard of people using them for a wide range of things. They just take up a bunch of space. Also, any money to be made from them will probably NOT offset the cost of removal. with the age of buses we are dealing with, removal is a time-consuming hell.
When we purchased our 1997 102D3 the seats were on good condition. The company selling the bus removed all the seats (except the drivers seat) at no cost to us. We took delivery of an empty bus
We posted them on FB marketplace for free.
They were gone the following weekend.
When we asked the guy what he was doing with them he said he wasn't sure.
All good info.
Kind of just as I suspected, not a lot of value there.
Thanks a million for the input.

And a stack of $100s LOL. The landfills I have dealt with charge an additional fee for each vehicle seat in addition to weight.
I'm about to take a knife to my seats and recycle the metal and send the rest to the landfill.
Lucky here. We have an bi annual bulk trash pick up day. Pretty much anything goes. First year they started it, people put out HUGE piles of junk and discards. Lol. They had to use several trucks to get it all gathered. Now, piles are a lot smaller and so far, they allow scavengers to gather any metal or other worthy items prior to pickup.First time, I piled all the coach seats and some assistant wouldnt pick them up. So I dismantled, separated materials and disposed of non metal every week till it was gone. Got rid of house shingles same way. Had a pile of shingles 3'x8'x8' stacked in back corner of garden. Every week, I broke some into pieces and put them into those plastic shopping bags, put three or four in with regular trash. Took little over a year to get rid of them, but saved landfill disposal fee. Also, got me out and about in winter esp. Those shingles snap into pieces nicely at 10°.
Love that method, I do the same. With the list of crap they say they won't take, it just longer to get rid of it by chucking a few pieces at a time into the trash. Couple weeks ago a replacement toilet got the sledge hammer treatment. How about that - it all fit once smashed into bits. lol
I disposed of a refer the same way,,( it had no gas in it for several years) I just took a sawsall to it and it went out in three "installments".>>>Dan
I love the creativity. :^
