Title: Caravan to Loudonville..?
Post by: Tedsoldbus on March 27, 2021, 05:01:23 PM
Looking to August, planning to leave N Georgia and go west to Chattanooga to catch I-75. North up I-71 if anyone is going that way and wants to caravan. Our departure dates are flexible to see the Flxible...  (sorry. couldn't resist). Main reason for the trip is throwing my 90 year old father law into our shorty Prevost and up the hwy we will go. He had 3 buses and ran with a group from the NE. They had mostly 4104, 4106 and Flx buses and a "rally" was: they met in some farmers field, drank and played guitars, and the kids, including my wife, did not have cell phones. His FMCA number is 4125. He has lots of pictures and memories but most of his bus buddies are gone now. Hopefully this is a chance to let him live it again and just get out of the house. Should be an adventure for him.
So...I need to stop briefly every 2 to 3 hours. Can't let him use potty on the move as his mobility is shaky. but expect we will still make it in a day. I have tools, extra parts, belts, hoses, and a rabbits foot for the trip. Let me know if you are not in a breakneck hurry and want to caravan.

Have they made the decision to have it?

I don't know. I e-mailed them off line a few days ago but no response so far. Unless mutant "Covid 24" pops out of the woodwork in July, I expect it to happen. For my dad in law's sake, I hope so...  I expect anyone wanting a Covid shot to be able to get one way before that. Perhaps just wishful thinking on my part, but I hope it is a go.

Update, heard from Brian today. I think he has every expectation it is a go. I am working on this way out as there are logistics to ensure the comfort of my 90 year old partner in this trip. Lord knows it will be toasty, so finding out what campgrounds are available etc. is important. He will need A/C even if it needs to be a motel room.
