Anyone here ever use the Everchill Rv Fridge,I need a fridge for the van and the price is great for a 12v compressor fridge :-[
Can't speak to that brand specifically, but we've been quite happy with our 12vdc compressor fridge.
Any way to find out what brand compressor they use? More importantly, what brand/type of controller?

It's a Danfoss like all 12/24 compressors,only thing it is made in Danfoss China plant ,they make a lot of 12v compressors under different names
I bet that most of them are made in China now.
The only problem I've had was with the controller. When we first got it we had it connected to both 12vdc and 120vac and it was supposed to switch to the internal converter when we had incoming ac current. This part of the controller crapped out on us twice. The company (Vitrifrigo) replaced the controller both times, but the last time it happened I noticed that it still worked if we left the 120vac unplugged. Apparently there was an issue with the early controllers which caused them to fail when switching between ac and dc current.
When they sent us the last replacement we only connected it to 12vdc. I figure that when we're on shore power we're always running the charger/converter and always have enough spare 12vdc power to run the fridge. It's worked without problems since.

I have had the Norcold chest freezers for 20 years 12/24/110 never lost a controller on one of those yet

My guess is that the controller in that Norcold was made better and/or before production was sent overseas. IIRC they had some major changes in 2010 where their domestic production was sold and renamed.
