I thought I was covered. I lost 4 lugs on my streetside drive wheel and tried to get Good sam to send out a mechanic to fix it. I fully expected to pay for the labor and parts, but I expected the mechanic to be dispatched as part of my policy coverage. They would not do it. They would tow the coach to the nearest repair shop at no charge. My argument was it is not safe to roll. Didn't matter.
It is getting close to renewal for me and I have been reading their detailed plan coverage and nowhere does it say they will dispatch a mechanic. They make it sound like they will, but honestly, I don't read that they will. https://www.goodsamroadside.com/findaplan/platinumcomplete.cfm
Has anyone else run into this?

I dropped GS the nearest repair center has a 35 mile limit ,LVMCI just went through the 35 mile limit cost him 1000 bucks and Tom is hard to piss off but GS found a way 8)
so...... coachnet? AAA?
I got terminated from GS for too many calls, my kid kept locking his keys inside his car. The winch-out off the cliff didn't help either I'm sure. grrrrr.
I heard coach-net was good. I signed up last year, drove 5000 miles but never had to use it. Biggest thing I'm concerned about is when I signed up they said "Vehicles older than 40 years don't qualify". Mine turns 40 this year.
I have had Coach-Net for the past 6 years. My bus turns 75 this year and have had no issues with them on the 3 times I have used them. I also have State Farm road side assistance for the bus but have not used it.
I tried to sign up today on their website. It did not have any of our brands: MCI, GM, etc. or model. It had other but finally threw up on the VIN. Mine is 1286 which catches up folks all the time. Left a message finally and no call back. Too busy or too rich I guess.
Coach-net has 'Other' as an option for Make and Model. I left the VIN blank, I haven't had any issues doing that.
Ka-Ching another coach-net membership. i had trouble using Firefox, worked on chrome putting other for everything except year. We should just share one like a free-pass for all. could be any bus. lol
Don, that made me laugh. That would teach 'em. Jack
Coach-Net paid for a mobile mechanic when I lost a wheel bearing on my tag axle. It was going to be a tow, but the tow company called and said they could send a mechanic instead if I could give them the part numbers for the bearing and seals. I was near Evanston, Wyoming and the tow company sent a mechanic from their Coalville, Utah location. The mechanic drove six hours round trip and the only part I had to pay for was his time onsite.
It turned out the spindle was melted so the mechanic chained up the tag axle and we drove the rest of the way home. I was able to get one of those axle repair places to fix the spindle as the spindle is obsolete.
CoachNet is the premier service I have had it since 2000 and my price is not that bad but prices are steep for 1st time buyers now, they have a call center in Lake Havassu I did work for on the weekends and night for a couple of years till I ran out of patience with some RV owners,if Good Sams sticks with 35 mile limit it is not worth nothing it cost Tony and Pam 2000.00 to get towed home with GS
My understanding is the Coach-Net 40 year rule applies to other vehicles the subscriber owns, not the RV. They don't want to be dealing with classic cars I guess. It would pay to check if your bus is over 40 years old.

That rule doesn't apply to Rv's that I know of CoachNet started as FMCA associate back in the late 80's it may have changed I don't know the owner sold Coachnet to some outfit Dallas a few years ago
With coach net, I had to talk to customer service to get signed up as my 40 year Prevost doesn't have a VIN number. Couldn't get the web site to handle my signup info.
Sounds like you need to set it up with a person if that's even possible any more... Geeez
i got registered online after a couple tries. Put other for all fields except the year. That worked for me. PS. I had left a message on their customer service number and never got a call back. But I do have a policy number and receipt of payment so I'm in.
I'm glad I started this thread. I really thought Good Sam covered me for this stuff. I've been faithfully paying them for 18 years. I think I will sign up with Coach Net in April when my Good Sam expires. That is great service, Belfert. That is what I expected from Good Sam when I needed wheel studs, but I expected to pay for the parts, however.
Lucky for me Les Swabb was 2 miles from my parking place so I reluctantly drove over slowly with 4 broken studs :o

FWIW Coach-net have been really good for me. My coach is under refurbishment right now but they towed that back in 2017 when I had a problem with the skinner valve. More latterly my winter beater car (an AWD 20 year old jag) had an alternator failure on a massive 6000 mile trip and they towed that no issues. Very courteous too.
I had my bus put on a Landoll flatbed and towed for free from Baker, CA to Barstow with GS. But I wanted to go to Las Vegas, so happily paid the extra $120 to go. Still have GS and also FMCA. Good Luck, TomC
I called GS to jump start my prevost in my driveway on thursday. Almost 5 hours later, a guy in a hybrid Kia shows up with (2) 12v jump boxes. Surprise, it didn't work.
Call after call to their call center and repeated no call-backs from the "supervisor" led me to cancel my policy with them when they couldn't find anyone for 24 hours. I live in the suburbs of Cincinnati, OH, not exactly a desolate place!
I had AAA for RV's. Called with a low tire, an 11.00x22.5 and just wanted air to get to the tire store. They sent a guy in a van with a portable air tank. Cancelled them and got Coachnet. Only time I have used them was in OK moving a Wanderlodge from IN to Hollywood CA. Called and told them we needed a Landol and they sent a medium wrecker without a stinger or any hydraulics. Had to wait overnight for the Landol. You have to be very specific and make sure the person on the other end is paying attention.

Yeah I wound up not sending more money to AAA after it was reviled on another site that my RV coverage would probably be a sort of reimbursement after the fact. Since I hadn't had an actual claim they dishonored any credit for my cars, etc. The one time I loaned my pickup to a lady friend wound up being a five hour adventure with AAA when she ran it out of fuel on one of the tanks and than ran the batteries down to zero trying to restart it.
Once it was dumped into my driveway it was on the charger overnight and fired up in ten minutes the next morning...
