Title: Going from Double MCI D4500 Air Doors to a Single Door
Post by: Glennman on September 11, 2020, 09:36:50 AM
Hey all,

I would like to glean some information on how to change out the double doors on my 2002 MCI D4500 to a single side hinged door. I have seen videos on welding the 2 doors together and creating hinges, etc. (I can do that, but it seems like a lot of trouble).

Is there an MCI side hinged door assembly that will fit the hole? I know modifications are always needed, but if the door was already the right fit, that would go a long way to having a good door.

Any suggestions are welcomed! Thanks, Glennman

Caylor Supply will have the sedan door they just have a top and bottom adjustable hinge you will need with the door, you may find one in your area adding the latch is the hardest part of the conversion from transit doors to the sedan door for me

Thanks luvrbus. I'll check them out. I kind of enjoy making modifications on things like adding latches. It makes things custom, but there is always the time factor to consider!
