Title: ALCOA 1 x 1/2 lug nut covers
Post by: edvanland on August 20, 2020, 08:35:40 AM
Any one have any old style ALCOA 1x1/2 push on lug nut covers, part number 00152. New improved style will not work on mine.

Can you post a picture of one of those?

I don't need the picture, I have a bunch of nut caps but the number doesn't match what you're requesting.  I have no idea about old vs new style since I'm new to this.  Mine say 10038.  They're not rust free either.

Also most any bigger truck stop should have them.

Buy them from a parts store, the truck stops are usually very expensive for almost everything...

Happy coaching!

I had a number of alcoa old style nuts missing on my coach when i got it and i used some off the front axle to replace the ones on the rear axle giving me a couple of extras for the rear axle in case i lose more ( they are getting a little loose as they are old) and you can't repleace them with the ones in the picture as alcoa ones hold on the hubcaps. Iwent to the alcoa site and ordereddsome of the new ones (screw on) through a peterbuilt dealer as alcoa will only sell to truck manufacturers And not to owners   I included picture and part number of new ones go to peterbuilt dealer to order they are awesome.

Sorry I forgot to mention that the new style ones come with two different coloured clamps that slide on your nut one of them will be the right tightness and then just screw on your nut   They do not rust and they don't come off i love them. Much better design than the old ones

LOL i would lose several every time I went inside to pay for fuel, some truckers looked at those as a 5 dollar bill on the ground waiting to be picked up

Thanks for all the replies. I have tried all of them. Yes I ordered the new style screw on caps from Iowa 80 and the problem is the screw on ones will not screw down far enough to hold the cap. Sandra at ALCOA even worked with me and was not able to solve the problem. HALTEC which is the accessory part of ALCOA even gave me suggestions but that didn't work either. So I guess I will just not run the drive axle covers because I don't have the right caps, the old ones are working good on tag and steer axles. Thanks all. Yes Cliff they are a $5 bill to a lot of sticky fingers.

Sorry ed I wasn't aware that they weren't going on far enough to hold the center cap firmly.  I put a piece of foam behind my center cap and that held it tight against the nut covers no rattling and kept the nut covers tight

Would an appropriate diameter o ring or flat rubber seal like one used in end of garden hose work. Of course, proper diameter.
