Hey guys, I just did a motor swap 8v71T to 8v71N in my 69 mod 4107 and for some reason I can't get my air pressure past 30psi. The motor is in great shape and was pulled from a good running bus. I'm thinking I might have my hoses wrong but have not been able to find info on exactly where they need to go. Any help would be great! Will post pics shortly
If it is easy enough, remove the discharge line from the compressor and connect it to shop air. You may find an open line somewhere that leaks so badly, you cannot hear it with the motor running. If there is no leak like that, you will also be able to easily check the rest of the system. You could rig up a regulator to vary the inlet pressure to test your air dryer system, governor, etc.
I figured it out, I had an air line plugged in where it didn't belong and got oil in the system. Remove the line cleaned out the oil and it's all good! I do have another issue now though I'm gonna make another post about it but maybe you might be able to help. So I've got air pressure it's idling just fine but I have no throttle response on my air throttle. Followed it back everything is working as it should but it's like it's not injecting any diesel. Ugh...
Is the injector rack moving when you press the throttle ?
