Title: 2 fuel return lines plumbed together
Post by: David Anderson on May 15, 2020, 06:02:44 AM
I am moving my fuel lines to a different tank for my Webasto and Kubota genny.  They currently have 1/4" return lines running back to the tank.  They are located next to each other in the front bay.  The tank is in the back bay. Can I upsize to a 5/16" line and tee them together at their locations and run one line back to the fuel tank?  I don't want to drill 2 holes.

You need separate lines David your DD returns almost 1 gal per minute and the Kubota is about a tea cup a hour it was cause you problems down the line BTDT

When you do drill your tank, cap off all the fittings and leave one to run 5-7psi pressure into the tank. the drill filings will be forced out of the tank. Even a reverse flow from a vaccum cleaner will work, just duct tape it to the filler neck.

I have also just put a little grease on the bit that will capture the chips, I do it several times. Works for me

The webasto and kubota return lines would be plumbed together.  I'm not interfering with the DD fuel line.  Is that still not recommended?  Trying to avoid another hole.
