Title: Finders Fee for hooking me up with a bus,.
Post by: Chariotdriver on February 25, 2007, 07:16:08 PM

If you already have your "dream bus" and know where there is a great deal on a
bus that has been converted I would be willing to pay for your troubles in pointing me to it.
I've been browsing the internet for months looking for that sweet deal and have not be able to find it.
Don't you hate it when you spend the bucks only to find a better deal soon after? Me too!

I'm not sure what to pay for this and don't want to offend anyone, but if I buy the bus that you recommend, let me know what you think.
I'll even offer a Gents two tone Rolex to the person that hooks me up with a deal.
Looking for a motorhome type that 2 adults and 2 children can live in and travel around for a while.
Been looking at some 45' Eagles and like the bigger engines.
Let me know if there are any other ideas that you may have to make this happen.
Thanks,
Phil

I know of a converted 40 foot older Eagle for $20,000 that has a documented newly rebuilt engine! The owner actually has 3 buses. 1 40' Eagle, 1 40' mci, and 1 35' mci.

Sound like anything your looking for?

It would be nice to have some idea of your budget as conversions have quite a range in price. Also, do you have specific needs or wants. I know of a nice looking Eagle that has been for sale recently on the West Coast. It is ready to go, (no inverter) and might fit your needs well.

Keep us posted.

Sorry about not providing enough info regarding budget, needs etc.
Bedroom in the back with 2 or more bunks, or 4 or more bunks.
Could be a sleeper if the price is right to convert over to a motorhome.
Needs to be a motorhome as in cook area and shower.
Prefer 40-45'
Budget is 60,000 or less but needs to be a "Great Deal" for that kind of money.
I don't mind having some things replaced if the price more than makes up for the needs.
Thanks,
Phil
P.S.
Can you have your friend send pics of the Eagle for 20,000 and the MCI ?

FWIW, a friend who had a small charter company and bought used busses in the 7-10 YO range told me to figure about 10% of the purchase price for repairs and deferred maintenance.

Look at busforsale.com at the Prevost named "Salvation". Granted it is $79,000, but in my opinion, perfect for your use.  Plus being a Prevost will be stainless steel below the window line.  I would be very careful about buying a Eagle.  While they are nice and cheap, the older ones are typically rust buckets since they are made from standard steel square tubing.  Motorhome facades can hide lots of problems.  This is the main reason I did my own-stripped it to the frame and repainted the interior with Rustoleum.
Look at Salvation-nice bus-big engine.  Good Luck, TomC
