I am going to take out the original bus air on my 4106. Will the A/C compressor fit through the access door or does it have to drop through the bottom? How hard is it to do? How long does it take?
Thanks
Hi Barn Owl,
Looks like you have a lot of interesting projects! How is this one going?
Fellow bus nuts, any thoughts for Barn Owl on this?
Hope this helps, Phil
I'd like to know about that too.
I've never had to remove one, but I know it's coming one of these days!

It is times like these that make me appreciate the 4104 AC setup and the 671!!
Hey Barn Owl,
Call me if you need a strong back and a weak mind. If we can get together schedule-wise, I'll be glad to lend a hand!
Hi yo silver,
Thanks for the offer; I'm still in the planning stages trying to figure out how to go about it. It would be nice to get it done this year. I want to move my genset, and since the A/C condenser has to come out, I am going to remove the compressor also. I will keep you updated.

Larry -
The A/C compressor comes out thru the access door between the rear axle and the radiator.
The procedure is outlined fully in the Maintenance Manual, Section 26, Page 32. Additional information on the procedure is included in the Maintenance Manual Supplement, again in Section 26.
No shop manual? PM me with your snail mail address. . .
;)
Russ,
Thanks for your help; I got my hands on a manual. It says to use a hoist. Is it that heavy or can I just roll it out onto the ground? I guess I will find out, hopefully this year.
