Recently had my fuel/water separator filter clog to the point the bus almost wouldn't run - found it hadn't been changed on request the last time I had service done. Between a clean air filter, fresh fuel filters, and fuel/water filter, the bus has never run this good. I thought that being 40 years old it wouldn't keep up on hills on the highway - reality is when it can actually operate the way it was designed, it has no problem.
Just an FYI for anyone out there chasing performance issues that hasn't started with the filters first - it really is huge.
I like to do the preventive maintenance myself, so I know that it is done. Replace filters once a year. You can't expect your machines to run good if you don't look after them...

That's another reason I prefer spin on filters. If you worry about water, get the one s that have the drain on the bottom to check for water, otherwise get the fancy unit if you are running bio diesel or french fry oil.
Inexperienced busnuts can be seen coming a mile away and have their wallets stolen.
If you own your own bus, you better do your own maintenance, or get stolen from, over and over...
The shops either steal yer money or don't want you there in the first place.
Do you really think it was greased correctly?
Own your own, do your own.
Happy coaching!
