Post by: Paul S on February 04, 2020, 11:58:04 AM
Any idea where the tach gets it's reading from? Mine is not working and I've not traced the location yet...

I have a separate generator running off the back of the blower.

Going to try and trace it down today, not sure where it terminates but hopefully I can figure it out from the junction box.

Go to Harbor Freight. Buy a wire tracer. You clip the signal generator to the tach wires and then go to back with the handheld receiver with antenna and probe around till you pinpoint the wires. If no luck there, then go to each junction box starting from front. When you find the correct wires in front box, move the signal generator to that point and repeat. Those things are the best thing for tracing wires I've ever used. Easier than a test light in these situations. Another must have for your diagnostic tool box.
