Title: Detroit Diesel Coolant....how to test its condition and etc.
Post by: Sojourner on February 23, 2007, 08:59:22 PM
This is downloading of "Detroit Coolant Selections" brochure.
This addition to your engine manual....many of our "coolant" posts are answered.

http://www.detroitdiesel.com/Public/brochures/7SE298.pdf

On page 20 to 21 (22 to 23 PDF) discuss about "SUMMARY OF COOLANT RECOMMENDATIONS"

Also when to replace coolant after submitting the sample in a DDC Power Trac Coolant Test Bottle.

Good evening Jerry,

Thank you for this post.  You always have such good stuff for us.  Keep the 'em coming!

I have been running Fleet Guard - I probably should check the label - just to make sure...

Thank you kindly Phil!

This SCA additive is only apply to wet sleeve diesel engine.
I believe only 2-cycle DD has dry sleeve are 6-71 & 8-71 bus series. 6-92 & 8-92 are wet sleeve as well most modern diesel.
So "dry-sleeve" can use regular glycol antifreeze such as gasoline engine.
