Title: A ? for the "old school" in some of us... I
Post by: dtcerrato on October 17, 2019, 05:19:04 PM
Here's a ? For the "old school" in some of us... I ordered a new old stock National front main crankshaft seal for our 671. To my surprise when it arrived it is in brand new condition but is a spring compressed rawhide seal... Should I or shouldn't I use it & why or why not?? Thanks in advance for the comments. Please keep in mind that it doesn't have to go more than 20 years to suit me...

Heck at my age I'd toss it in if I only thought I'd get 5 years out of it--but an the other hand I'd probably try to find one made of neoprene or something just in case I beat the
actualities.  Jack

If you decide to use it, use white lithium grease for assembly and you will be fine.>>>Dan :)
