I need to do something with my roof this winter. I don't remember the brand of stuff I used before but was like a rubber paint, and it is failing fast especially the last couple of years (Been on since 2007). Is there anything new out there that doesn't leave streaks down the side of the coach? What about the roof coatings with ceramic in it? also has anyone put drains on the roof AC's that would pipe back the roof and come out in one spot just not running down from each AC?

My bus was painted with $600/gallon ceramic paint with glass particles (or something) in it that reflected significantly more heat than any other paint. The owner lived in Phoenix so this was important to him.
Since then, I have had to repaint my roof and decided on a cheaper alternative and now I use Henrys rubberized paint that I get at Home Depot. The last time I used Silicone paint but would probably not use that again as I like to paint the top edge of my roof where you can see it from the ground with black paint to blend in better and the only way to do this with silicone paint is to use their special blend of silicone black paint which is very expensive and sloppy to use. They have a non-silicon paint that is non-glossy (like the silicon is) that I painted my MCI with that I liked much better.
Best Materials in Phoenix has a good selection of roof coating I tried to save a few dollars and bought some Henry's at HD lol every time it rained I got white streaks down the sides,Jim Smith stripped mine and sprayed it with a bed liner a material now I have no caulking or streaks to deal with
Cliff I like the idea of the bedliner material, did you get it done in white? I thought about just going back to paint like it originally had, I hate having the white streaks down the sides. Thanks Jason

I used it on my roof years ago. Did some touchup around a few rivets last year. Put it on with a roller. You can get it at any hardware store.

Has anyone used the diy bed liner kits with success? quite a few to pick from, even white.

Yes Jason it is white
Astec Ceramic Finish reply System. Pressure wash and sprayed with an Airless with a .018 tip. white but can be tinted. Wash it off to clean it, It is sand-able with a DA if needed. It is elastomeric with ceramic mixed in it and comes with the mix in a 5 gallon bucket. Takes about 3 gallons but is only sold in 5's about 350.00 a bucket.
This is for metal roofs and can be resprayed over itself and drops the heat a bunch. This stuff will not yellow.
I have used Herculiner for lining my house battery box and it worked well. Pep Boys sell it. You have to use it up as it sets up in container after opening. Don't know if it is available in white. It has some texture, so it may not suit. A quality spray on bed liner may be a good idea, although, I think you have to remove all paint to the metal. They are ,at least, uv resistant, since they are for open beds. Also check traditional rv sites for what they sell with reviews.
I suppose you could also use a 100% solids epoxy floor paint. Not the cheap stuff, this is gonna cost some. But it sticks to anything and has a slick finish. Put it on with a roller.

Thanks for all the responses, I'm really leaning towards the bed liner material. I would really like to do it myself if possible, I know some of the kits you can roll it on instead of spraying witch would be a lot less mess and I could work at my own pace. I have to do some more research.

Some of the bed liner material comes out pretty smooth. I think you would be better off doing the prep and having the professional apply it, so you get a nice job.
